  1. Peter, Could I trouble you to drop me an email on s.j.wright@leeds.ac.uk as I'd like to ask if it's possible to schedule a visit to the University. Many thanks Steve Wright
  2. On the PC running XP SP3 - namely the old type PC being used to drive the TRC 472 cockpit device, the machine has a copy of 6.86 wide FS. 3. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but in the FSX folder on the server machine we have the following files (in addition to the FSUIPC files in Modules). 5. The University I work for has recently upgraded it's flight sim hardware (PC's & projectors) going for a heavily overclocked workstation running 64bit environment with rather nice HD rear mounted projectors. However, the problems have become interesting as the TRC 472 (cessna 172) unit purchased some considerable time back it would seem has a 16 bit I/O card. Alas, the card cannot be swapped out for a 64 bit card at this time (according to TRC).... so the only solution has been to use FSUIPC with Wide FS. I've installed FSUIPC and Wide FS on the workstation: registered both software's fine. The TRC unit is connected to an existing PC running XP - and the TRC unit is calibrates more or less fine with their software. This PC was previously loaded up with FS 2004 and the correct FSUIPC software - and worked OK with the TRC hardward. To simplify matters, I've uninstalled all the old FS software off the machine, but left the TRC material on the hard drive. This XP computer has the small programme wide FS within the same TRC folder as per your pdf suggestions (user guide). I've had the departments IT support to network both machines together using a twisted pair (cat 5) cable - and all seems fine thus far. When the workstation runs FSX, the XP machine that is running wide FS appears to show 'connected,' but then shows a announcement bar "MS Flight simulator version is incorrect. Please use MS FS 2002 or FS2004" I've asked our IT team to have a look at the guidance materials re: network settings. Am I missing something obvious here by any chance? Any suggestions would be gratefully appriciated.
