  1. It is not quite as simple as adding them to SC.  SC is based on actual flights at the airports and imports the destination, aircraft, flight number, etc.  So, I would have to redo the entire schedules and hope that some 788, 748 and 388 aircraft are captured.  It might be easier for you to make a schedule and then convert some of the 777 to 788, for example.  I don't know when I would have the time to redo 24 schedules from scratch.

Thanks for your compliment and interest.

I know- and FeelThere/Nyerges makes it even worse; a few sparse flights in the morning until about 10am and absolutely nothing else. We must ask what was the point of including this airport? And why does Nyerges have to be begged to update the schedule?

I think it was their first airport and was fairly easy to design...but not sure why it was included.  Updating the schedule probably won't change things much. I don't even use it anymore.

Are there any future plans to include KIND as an option?

Thanks for your interest. Based on my list of available Tower airports, SC does not include KSMF, KIND, KPDX, KMSY, PHNL, and KEYW.  Making a new schedule does involve quite a bit of work and requires a copy of the terminal assignment file in order to make it as accurate as possible.  I do not currently own copies of the listed airports.  I may work on some of these during the winter of 2017 but really don't have time right now.

  4. It is not clear to me if you have tried Schedule Creator.  And, how many flights do you want?  You can generate up to 2880 flights over whatever time period you wish using SC. So, if you chose a 6-hour schedule, that would be 480 flights per hour.  That seems pretty challenging to me!  I don't know the exact number or the time distribution, but I think LAX handles about 1600 flights per day.

You can use the schedule files for both Tower!2011 and Tower!3D.

  5. No.  The data are included in the program and it cannot be accessed by users.  You could create you own DEN schedule by hand following the required schedule format using data from FlightAware or other flight tracking program.  You could make a schedule for LAX, for example, and then using Notepad replace LAX with DEN.  Probably will work since the airports have many airlines in common.

  6. First, did you run Schedule Creator as administrator?

Second, be sure the name of the schedule file in Tower3D is "klax_schedule.txt" and that it is in the proper folder "...extensions/airfields/klax".  The only problem I have ever had with the 70% loading error is when the file has the incorrect name or is in the incorrect folder.  I use SC24 all the time to create new schedules of various sizes and times.

  7. Some duplicate flight numbers were inadvertently included with the Tower3D schedules.  The simplest solution is to identify the flights and then edit the schedule by changing the flight numbers.  This situation should be corrected in future schedules.

Here is a schedule that should be duplicate-free.  It needs to be renamed "klax_schedule.txt" before adding to Tower3D.

  8. As the author of Schedule Creator, I am particularly concerned about this.  I have RT SP4 installed.  So, I created a new, 1200-flight schedule for KLAX using SC 24 V1 and tested it at 6 different starting times (1:00-21:00) separated by 4 hours.  The sim loaded correctly and performed correctly each time.  I have noted that if the schedule file is not in the correct folder or does not have the correct name, the sim does stop loading at 70%.  For KLAX, this should be (tower3d/ refers to your installation location):

    tower3d/extensions/airfields/klax/klax_schedule.txt

What I have noted is that there is about a 55-minute difference between the time chosen (8:00 for example) and the time the first flight is loaded (the time shown at the top of the display).  No idea why this is the case, but I have brought it to the attention of the developers.

I don't think problem this has anything to do with the schedules.  My schedule is attached.

  9. JFK is the departure airport.

    RDU is the destination airport.

    CR7 is the aircraft.

G7 is the airline IATA code.

12:00 is the arrival time at RDU.  The sim does not use this time so it was just set to 12:00 because an entry is required.

13:36 is the departure time from JFK.  The sim does use this time.

1 is the arbitrary flight time. The sim does not use this time but an entry is required.

G7 is the airline sharecode. This is not used by the sim.  The original intent, I think, was that some airlines share a parking space. For example, if this was a United flight (UA) parking at an American (AA) gate, the sharecode would be AA.  May not be totally what the original schedule maker meant, but you get the idea.

You have to edit the terminal file to show current airlines.  Tower 2011 and Tower 3D have very incomplete terminal files.  Attached is a copy of mine for LAX.  It also contains some cargo assignments which I use with Tower 2011 but do not affect Tower 3D.  The name of the file is the one required by Tower 3D for KLAX.
