  1. Thanks..... After many years of flight simming, you have made me feel very stupid... :-) ....ahahaha.....thanks for taking the time to reply to my question..!! Regards
  2. Good morning, I usually delete all standard FSX keyboard keys assignment, except just a few ones, to have as many keys as possible available for dedicated commands. However, every now and then I need to rebuild my fsx.cfg which causes the standard keyboards keys assignments to be reoloaded. Is there a way to save a keyoboard keys assignment configuration to be permanently used ? I knew such configuration was in the controls.xml file but I have tried to save it and used it after a fresh cfg rebuild but it does not work. Thanks for the help Regards
  3. Pete, this discussion is interesting as I have also noticed that moving the cursor "out" of the screen (i.e.parking in the top left corner) improves the frame rate (I am also referring to NGX experience). On top of this I use your FSUIPC mouse look function and I have also noticed that when I pan in VC using mouse look I have a drop in FPS which I don't have if I pan using the hat switch on the joystick (maybe because in this way the mouse curosor remains "invisible" ? who knows..). On the other hand, panning using mouse look is much better than hat switch in terms of VC cockpit handling, so I was thinking if it could be possible within FSUIPC to combine the two functions : pressing mouse wheel to activate mouse look and cursor hide toggle at the same time. In this way you could pan using mouse look but still keeping the cursor hidden and when you release the mouse wheel it would become again visible and available to operate switches ...etc..... It might be worth a try... Thanks Regards
  4. I check regularly the download page to have always the latest release installed, so If I say latest version it means that I have checked the version reported in the GUI against the dowload pages for the updated modules....and I can confirm in this case I have 4.859m....... I have read that the use of loader.dll included in the 4.858 full install release may inhibit the mouselook function, but the point is I have not used loader.dll during install.... Regards
  5. I have been using the FSUIPC mouselook function (miscellaneous) with no problems, since it has been introduced. Yesterday, all of a sudden, it has stopped working with no apparent reason. I have the latest FSUIPC release and I have not installed any addon recently on FSX. I have tried to disable and re-enable the function and to replace the FSUIPC.dll (also with a different release), but no success. The mouselook function is working well if activated via FSX menu, but not via FSUIPC. The mouse is OK, as I have tried with a different one with no effect... Any idea of what happened and how to restore it ? Thanks Regards
  6. Pete, never mind... Thanks again for your kind support... Have a nice evening..
  7. Pete, first of all thank you very much for your availability and support...that's very much appreciated. I have tested the 4859etest but the situation has not changed. However, reading your statement above "...To work from the last position in that view would mean saving the Window titles and positions for every possible such title, as it ses them, and the number of such views is not predictable. I am not really willing to go that far", makes me think that probably I have not been able to explain correctly what I am after, as I don't want to start working from the last position in that view.....what I want is that when I change view, and point the mouse cursor at a certain position in the screen and then press the mouse wheel to pan, the view starts panning around that point....what happens now is that when I start panning the mouse cursor goes back to the position it had in the previous view so,changing abruptly the viewpoint.....I know it is not easy to explain.... I will try to upload some pictures to better explain my point. Thanks again, for the moment.... Regards
  8. Pete, the point is: I would like a mouse look function in which the eyepoint would not reset to the previous position kept by the mouse cursor but instead would start panning from where I am looking at. Is that possible ? I mean, is my set up incorrect or am I looking for something impossible ? Now, I am not using Ezca any more due to other reasons, but I remember that Ezca "hides" the cursor while panning using the mouse wheel (and the issue I am talking about does not occur with Ezca), while the mouse cursor remains always visible using FSX/FSUIPC mouse look...I don't know if this makes the difference. Thank you for your time Regards
  9. Pete, thank you for your quick answer. The problem is not related to Opus Camera: if I start FSX and don't start Opus, the problem is still there. Every time I press the mouse wheel to pan, the mouse cursour goes back to the last position in which it was before the mouse wheel was previously released. Let me explain better as I understand I may not have made my point clear enough (English is not my mother language...apologise..!). Let's say I am in VC default view, looking forward with the mouse cursor exactly in the middle of the screen....I want to look right, so I press the mouse wheel and pan right using the mouse, then I release the mouse wheel and stop panning...at this time I am looking at the right hand side of the VC and the mouse cursor is pointing at what I looking ....then I move the mouse cursor (without pressing the wheel) in another part of the screen, because, say, I need to turn a knob or select a switch which is not exactly where I am looking at but still within the field of view..so now the position of the mouse cursor in the screen has changed....now (and here is the point I am talking about) if I press again the mouse wheel, the mouse cursor goes immediately back to the position were it was when I previously released the wheel. Now, if this is not a problem using always the same camera view, when you switch among different camera views it is extremely annoying because it resets the view point to a position that was a part of the previous camera and not the actual. Hope I have better clarified. I'd like to know if this is the normal behaviour of the mouse look function (by the way it did not happen using Ezdok Camera). Thanks in advance for your time... Regards
  10. I need help in understanding Mouse look behaviour. I am using FSUIPC 4.858 and I have the mouselook enabled in Miscellaneous. I also have Opus as Camera view software. I have created a series of VC views (Cpt, overhead, radios, etc...) which are associated with an assigned key press. Now, as long as I use mouse look to pan in one view, it is working quite well, but when I switch to a different view and I press the mouse wheel to start again panning, the mouse cursor (and then also the eyepoint) resets to the last position it had in previous view. Ideally I would prefer "to point" with the mouse cursor at the area around which I want to pan, then press the mouse wheel and start panning from there. Indeed what I have actually is that the "centre" of the panning is located in the last position of the mouse cursor in the previous view, which is extremely annoying. Am I missing something or is this behaviour normal ? I have no Space bar or any key in FSX controls associated with any view function. Thanks Jackson
  11. Pete, thank you and apologise me: I completely missed Wide FS Documentation...I read it now and managed to get it working... Appreciate you wasted your time to reply to my second post......I owe you a beer..!! Cheers
  12. Pete, many thanks for the reply..... So, just to clarify, this is what I have in the Wideclient.ini for the Teamspeak mic PTT activation from a Yoke button: ------------ [user] Log=Errors+ KeySend1=123,16 ; Press F12 KeySend2=123,24 ; Release F12 UseSendInput=Yes -------------------------- It works nicely, but I put these values just following a tutorial found on the forums and I don't know what "123, 16" stands for (apologise for my ignorance)...! Now if I want to have the same applied to, say, F1 key, I guess I have to put something similar in the .INI file making reference to F1, so I assume I need to the following steps: a) Assign in FSUIPC the Keysend 0-255 option to F1 key B) Assign the keysend number to F1 in the .ini file But the point is: how do I determine the keysend number for F1 ? Maybe it is obvious but I don't know how to do it ... Thanks again for your kind support... Regards
  13. Hi Pete, is it possible to send key commands from the main pc to a client pc using widefs ? For instance I want to send the "F" keys (F1, F2, ....etc) commands to the client PC from the main PC keyboard. Which is the right procedure ? I have tried to use the "Key-send" command in FSUIPC but I must miss something... Can you help me ? Thanks in advance Best Regards
  14. Sorry, I missed a similar post on page 2 of this forum....I am OK....forget about this post...! Regards
  15. Hi Pete, I have one simple question: I have FSUIPC 4.754 installed. To update to 4.811 do I have to run the 4.81 installer and then replace the .dll with 4.811 dll, or can I just replace 4.754 dll with the 4.811 one ? Thanks Regards
  16. Pete, is there a way to assign a button through FSUIPC to get a quick trim reset ? That would be very helpful during circuit patterns and touch and go landings, when you have to reset trim within take off range but changing view to do it would make keeping the alignment with rwy centerline "very challenging" ? Thanks Regards
  17. OK...I fixed it....I reinstalled SDK and simconnect on the client PC and it was OK....now both ASE and IVAP are back on .....quite frankly I don't know what happened... Thanks for your time anyway... Regards
  18. Yes, the address is still the same......and WideFS is connecting OK...so it is not a network issue....everything seem at its right place...I am puzzled...!
  19. Pete, thanks for the reply. I have ASE and IVAp running in remote on a networked laptop. These are my Simconnect.xml file on the server PC (FSX)... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?> - <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"> <Descr>SimConnect</Descr> <Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> - <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol> <Scope>global</Scope> <Address>192.168.0.2</Address> <Port>500</Port> <MaxClients>10</MaxClients> <MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize> <DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle> </SimConnect.Comm> - <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>Auto</Protocol> <Scope>local</Scope> </SimConnect.Comm> </SimBase.Document> [simConnect] Protocol=IPv4 Address=192.168.0.2 Port=500 MaxReceiveSize=4096 DisableNagle=0 They seem to be ok.....I just can't figure out what happened... Maybe is just a coincidence but the issue started immediately after I had a hard PC shutdown (server PC) due to an electrical supply loss in the house while I was flying.... Any other suggestion ? Thanks again Regards
  20. Pete, I have a question but I don't know if you are the right person to ask......but let me try.....:have been running for several months until a couple of days ago ASE and IVAP on a networked laptop with no issues. All of a sudden it looks like Simconnect has stopped working properly: ASE does not any longer inject weather into FSX and IVAP "cannot find FSX". Apparently everything seems to be fine: all files are located where they should be, MS Firewall is properly configured, network comunication between server and client is OK, widefs is ok....and so on... This is what I have from FSUIPC.log. ********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.749d by Pete Dowson ********* User Name="USER" User Addr="USER" FSUIPC4 Key is provided WideFS7 Key is provided Running inside FSX on Windows 7 Module base=61000000 63 System time = 04/12/2011 13:31:01 63 FLT UNC path = "\\USER\Documents\File di Flight Simulator X\" 94 Trying to connect to SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07 ... 94 FS UNC path = "\\USER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\" 312 LogOptions=00000000 00000001 312 Wind smoothing fix is fully installed 312 G3D.DLL fix attempt installed ok 312 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay 312 Trying to use SimConnect Acc/SP2 Oct07 889 Running in "Microsoft Flight Simulator X", Version: 10.0.61472.0 (SimConnect: 10.0.61259.0) 889 Initialising SimConnect data requests now 889 FSUIPC Menu entry added 905 \\USER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FLIGHTS\OTHER\FLTSIM.FLT 905 \\USER\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aircreation_582SL\Aircreation_582SL.AIR 60591 Aircraft="Aircreation582SL red" 60591 System time = 04/12/2011 13:32:02, Simulator time = 11:43:13 (11:43Z) 63929 Starting everything now ... 67471 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 116595 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 55 secs = 24.8 fps 129840 Weather Mode now = Theme 129840 \\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Volo precedente.FLT Does it tell anything related to my issue ?
