OK, I recopied scenery.cfg to scenerycfg.fsc and then ran the database program again and I have attached it for FSX and the one for FS9. I have come up with a work around by installing FSC on my Flight Sim pc and running the database program on it successfully and then copying the Database file to my remote pc. It does work. I had to do that with Flight Sim Flight Keeper at first also. Don't know why but it works and I can live with it. I would like to get it sorted out so the two files are attached and hopefully will help you guys figure it out. My FSX is installed on D drive and FS9 is installed on E drive. Thanks for your help with this. Ken

Hi Ken,
in your post you let us know, that you have mapped your Flight Sim drive to Z:.
If you are reading the log file, you are reading following information: ... based on: F: \\scenerycfg.fsc ...
I'm sure you see the Inconsistency.
Also in the Scenery.cfg entries appears for add-ons located on drive D:. Is on Drive D: your Flight Simulator installed?
Regards,
Hi, the file I sent was before I remapped to z. I shall look into the scenery config file and see if I can fix the errors. Thanks, Ken

I have followed the instructions here and in the manual provided and have had no luck running the database manager. It continues to give me the error code 52. I mapped my Flight Sim drive to z. I select it at the start of Database manager but it just sits there. I remap the drive to include the folder Fsx and it says You have correctly chosen the paths for FSX press update button now. I do and it saysFile not found or no access. I ran the FSCFSXCFG.exe program and it said it created the scenerycfg.fsc file which it did but it still gives me the error. I am decent at network file sharing and have success with everything else but this program. I truly want to run FSC9 on a networked computer. My FSC9 computer is WinXP service pack 3 and my Flight sim computer is Win7 64bit. Thanks for any help you can give me. Attached is the log file generated by the error. Ken

Pete, by changing SimConnects port to 8100 I was able to fix my problem. I found I had used the port 8002 for SimConnect which is the same as WideFS. Thanks for your help and enjoy your Trip. Ken

Pete, I have not used WideFS with FSX for a long time. I usually go with the Simconnect program. Today I was having issues with my mapping program (FSEARTH for FSX) and decided to try using Quickmap with WideFS to flight follow. I get the Wideserver waiting for Clients at the top of the screen and I start WideFS (latest versions) on my Second PC. It never connects. I looked at the Wideclient log and this is what is says:::
11906 Trying TCP/IP host "DADS" port 8002 ...
11906Okay, IP Address = 192.168.27.101
11906 Connection made okay!
12203 Connection closed by server!
12203 Attempting to connect now
14906 Server = DADS
14906 Trying TCP/IP host "DADS" port 8002 ...
14906Okay, IP Address = 192.168.27.101
14906 Connection made okay!
15016 Connection closed by server!
My WideServer log says this:::
********* WideServer.DLL Log [version 7.203] *********

I have used WideFS with FS9 for a long time so I am sure I have it set up correctly. Any help would be appreciated. Ken

Pete, I am glad I could help and contribute. Thanks, Ken

I type fast. Ken

That did it Pete. It works correctly. Ken

Pete, yes I use WideFS and will do what you need to figure this out. Ken

Pete, I tried 3.759 and it did the same. I tried 3.756 and it worked just fine. I have a zip file but it is 1.28megs and is too large to attach. The jpg's inside it show what is happening. One other note I did at takeoff with the error just to see if it would show up on the power up and sure enough I took off normally which leads me to believe it could be an instumentation display issue that is happening. I can email the file to you if you would like. Ken

Hi Pete, had the same issue. I reverted back to 3.75 and it worked as designed. Hope you can shed some light on this. Ken

Just a thought, I was having problems with AS6 connecting to FS with Wideserver and found in the options page of AS6 Build 523 under Graphics that I needed to check Enable WideFS Integration Mode and then all worked again. I never noticed this option before so maybe this is your problem. Ken

Thanks for a terrific addition. I get better turns now and it was so easy to program. Thanks a bunch. Ken

Ok, not sure what exactly I did but I went into MSCONFIG and started up a few services I had stopped and now everything is working as advertised. It definately was the network like you said. I used the new test versions and they are working great. Thanks for your suggestions Peter. They definetly led me to a solution even though I am not sure what caused it. I am tempted to disable services one at a time to see which one it was but now that its working I am going to leave well enough alone. Ken

Thanks, I figured it would be the network but not sure what step to take first. I guess it is time to get some money back from my investment of my sons education. He is a network guru. Like you I have trouble with the network end of things. I will try the subnet part and see if it makes any difference. Ken

Peter, sorry forgot to attach the files. Ken

Peter, excuse my last note as I was tire and had been at it all day with not joy on the connection. I attached another set of files showing Wideclient with and without the ServerName=Dads in it. I also included the WideServer log. I did not start any program other than Flight Sim and Wideclient. One thing I noted last night was that when I had Quickmap build 130 running it would say Not connected then it would put a FS 0/0 in the center of the map and the Not connected would go away like it was connected but it never moved to the airport I was at. I don't know if this is any help but it was a bit odd. I am going to try some other things to see if it is related to virus scanning software or my firewall. I did disable the fire wall (zonealarm) but it made no difference. Ken

For the last 12 hours I have read the instructions, installed and tested the program at least 40 times. I have tried the new version that does not need the Servername and have put the name in as you said to no avail. I know I am not a computer programming expert like you and some of the other posters here but I had a legitimate problem I thought you could help me with. It is obvious however that since I am not as good with computer programming as the rest I am not worthy of your help. I will figure this problem out on my own as you have suggested. Sorry to have bothered you. Have a nice day. Ken

Peter,
I have been using WideFs for years now and have done so without any big problems. Yesterday I moved my computers and whatnot to a new location in the house and now Wideclient does not connect to FS2004 I have attached my Wideclient Ini and Log and WideServer ini and log. I have tried putting the latest versions in (the 3.507 ver) and nothing happens. I go to network connections and I can see the computer, the FS directory and everything else as before but for some reason it wont connect. Hopefully you can see what the problem is in my ini files or the log files. Ken

I did but was confused as it did not show the aircraft name. Will look again to see if the specific aircraft was in fact showing. Thanks for your time. Wont bother you again.
FSC9 Problem

My issue has been resolved. It was the fact that the server wanted a password on the logins that prevented me from accessing the drive. What was weird was I was able to map the FSX directory with no problems. Go figure. It worked a couple of weeks ago so I am guessing an update occured that changed the security parameters. Regardless it works and I am happy. Thanks for the help and suggestions. Ken
