  1. Sorry Pete I have removed the brake allocations F11 & F12 within FS itself, I am wise to that one. I didn't notice any warning message when I tried to map the buttons in FSUIPC but I'll ckeck again, could have missed that. It wasn't a pop up message for sure I'd have noticed that. I'm fairly convinced it's something to do with a clash between TrackIR and Voice Buddy because they have the same F keys mapped as default and they happen to be the F keys I want to use in FSUIPC. When you talk about saving the ini, I can see there's merit in saving a backup copy but once I have the brakes working ok which they were do I delete the button entries in the ini file because there isn't a reset for buttons as I recall? Thanks Barrie
  2. Hi Pete, Checked the ini file and both brake settings are identical. Then I loaded the default flight in FS9 and took off. Perfect, no swing off track what so ever, until I pressed the joystick button that was mapped to F12 when the aircraft swung badly to starboard. I cannot understand that at all. There's obviously a conflict somewhere which must be associated with the programs I'm trying to activate with F12. Could be either TrackIR or Voice Buddy. Voice Buddy wasn't loaded at the time so could it be TrackIR. Bit of a mystery. Barrie
  3. Oh well it looks as though there's something seriously wrong with my set up because it's just not working for me. I have deleted the ini file and it now alows me to set a joystick button to F12 which it wouldn't before. But now I have a serious swing to starboard again. I followed your instructions carefully so I'm at a dead end again. But I'll keep trying or take up another hobby
  4. Hi Pete, I managed to set up FSUIPC to do what I wanted, brakes worked fine mapped two F buttons to do certain things. I thought great now I'l try Voice Buddy again after reinstalling it after a system install and clean up. Once Voice Buddy was activated FSUIPC didn't work on one of the mapped buttons, but worse it refuses to re-map it now. I have had previous experience of this and the reason, as I see it, is because Voice Buddy is set up to use the same hot keys ie F12. So what we have is my CH pedals trying to work the brakes and also Voice Buddy can do the same, if used. I'm sure this causes a conflict. In the past I have just reinstalled FSUIPC and started again. Then changed the hot keys used by Voice Buddy. What a lot of hasle. I know you are not directly concerned with other programs like this but first I wondered why FSUIPC refuses to repeat the button setting even though Voice Buddy is closed down? Is there any other way of resetting without having to reinstall FSUIPC? Can it be done by editing the ini file? Is so what do I do? Thanks again Barrie
  5. Hi Pete, You know that's a jolly good idea. Always read the destructions first (joking of course). Best do that before I say any more. Funny thing it's always worked my way before but could have been just beginners luck. Thanks, Barrie
  6. Thanks Pete, Yes it is a registered version I had the wrong slant on that, I always thought it was the dll you deleted and not the ini file. I have to admit it is a long time since I read the manual and a lot of that was a bit beyond me at that time. It could have been just coincidence that when I engaged the A/P it seemed to get worse. Really it is only the toe brakes that need setting but as they are part of the rudder pedals I wondered if when setting them it somehow influenced the rudder, obviously not. I must re-read the instructions on setting proceedure because I find it a little strange seeing all the numbers in the boxes and wondering what is the correct position of the pedals for each one. I assume one should find the zero point to set as minimum which is not fully back, then press the pedals fully forward for the max position, doing each side separately of course. At least that's how I have been doing it. I also need FSUIPC to map buttons to the F keys for some functions, this it does very well. I know there is a lot more to FSUIPC than that and it has a lot of features beyond me at present. Anyway I'll let you know when I sort this out. Thanks, Barrie
  7. Hi all, I have version 3.4 of FSUIPC installed in FS9 and use CH yoke & pedals. Without FSUIPC installed the game runs perfectly and the HSI bubble remains dead centre with the A/P engaged in level flight. The aircraft also remains level. If however I install FSUIPC there is a tendency for the HSI bubble to drift to the right and the aircraft to take a pronounced list to starboard which seems to get worse as the flight progresses. I don't attempt to calibrate the controls except for the toe brakes, in fact this drift seems to be worse after I've set the brakes (assuming I'm doing that correctly). Even if I didn't, surely once airborne the brakes shouldn't influence the flight characteristics. Does FSUIPC have any effect on the autopilot because that also seems to cause the situation to worsen once engaged. I know this sounds odd, and odd is what it is. I just wondered if anyone else had come across this problem. I have tried reinstalling FSUIPC several times after first removing th dll file but it doesn't make any difference. Further more after installing FSUIPC I find the brake indicator (red words) remains on even with the heel of the pedals pressed down. This is before any setting in FSUIPC. I don't get this before it is installed. Thanks, Barrie
  8. Hi Pete, My that's a big word, and eyes are a very big subject despite their small size. I know someone in our village who would know all about that. He's the surgeon who operated on mine and he's very good. What a coincidence him living so close and now we are on very friendly terms, not that I see much of him he's so busy. At least you've had the satisfaction of doing real flying, wish I had. I have to be content with FS but I do love it. Well I'll wish you all the best on 14th July. Regards, Barrie
  9. Hi Pete, Thanks for that interesting explanation. After (apparently un-necessary) re-instalation of FS2004 I have also reinstalled FSUIPC and ticked the relavant box. All is now working just fine. FSUIPC is undoubtable a very useful program. BTW sorry to hear of your eye problems. I know what that's all about as I have gone through the cataract procedure myself, twice now. You really apprciate your faculties when you don't have them or they are not what they used to be. Eye sight is such a precious thing. Your problem is one of the troubles with getting older, though I do hear of this happening to some youngsters as well. I am just 75 and have lots of aches & pains these days. Well it comes to us all. I do hope you soon are fully up & running. Regards, Barrie :D :D
  10. Thanks for your reply, I'll try that. Actually it was only the default aircraft because that is the ones I tried. I only have one other at present and that is the new MAAM DC3. I have since reinstalled the game and that has cured the problem, but as yet not installed FSUIPC. I did however take the caution to delete the relavant FSUIPC files in the Modulesfolder before I uninstalled the game. So we'll try again, and if it occurs again I'll apply this Fix. Thanks, Barrie
  11. Hi Peter, I have recently installed FS9 together with your latest registered version of FSUIPC. If I setup the A/P I can only get altitude settings of 1000ft increments and headings in 10deg increments. It appears to set correctly before the A/P is activated but the moment I engage it in flight subsequent changes are as stated. Have you any idea why this is, and what is the cure? Thanks, Barrie
