  1. Many thanks Peter, that was exactly the fix. I've never had many problems with FSUIPC but any queries I have had have been resolved quickly and efficiently. The epitome of support.
  2. Hi all, I'm making a reinstall of FSX, after some problems with the Level D 767. In fact, I'm making my 4th install of the weekend, and close to the end of my tether! :D :D Before the last install I checked all the directories listed at FSInsider, to make sure all residual files were removed. I then ran CCleaner and it found a load of redundant registry entries for FSX and fixed them. I then installed FSX, and tried to install FSUIPC 4, but it gave an error, something about not finding Simconnect (Sorry, didn't note down the error, and I've gone a step further now) I tried SP1, which is a fresh download from FSInsider, and now installing FSUIPC I get: Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.30 Looking in registry for FSX install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"SetupPath" SetupPath="C:\games\FSX\" Checking version of FSX.EXE: ... Version 10.0.61355.0 (Need at least 10.0.60905.0) Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect: ... Probe Manifest fails to match a valid base SimConnect needed to load FSUIPC4! Found later build SimConnect 61242 (SP1 May07) I suspect (based on how this weekend has gone so far) if I add Acceleration I'll get a similar error (and my Level D 767 problem 'Panel initialization error' will also be back). Is there a fix for the FSUIPC error? I suspect that I have something lurking that is not being removed on uninstall of FSX, but I'll be damned if I can find it! Can someone help me out?
  3. Thanks Pete. It was the PMDG 737 I was specifically interested in. Maybe something will become apparent when you release the program. Thanks for all your hard work, Gareth Evans
  4. Does this mean that none standard gauges (eg, custom autopilots) will be able to 'talk back' to the GoFlight stuff and update their displays?
  5. If I haven't had the weirdest weekend of computing...... Friday night, looking at some BIOS settings while trying to get my new CPU working correctly, I get some very odd messages after booting in to windows. I get 'Delayed Write Failure' errors spontaneously from files and folders I haven't been near in months, all on my second hard drive. I go to check it out, only one file shows on a half full 80Gb drive (which contains all my photographs  ) Fearing hard drive failure I reboot, and Windows fails to start, I reboot again, get the boot options menu, select start normally, Windows fails to boot again. Next time I try 'last known good configuration' and get a successful boot (remember that bit!). My drive has not failed, the CPU is working correctly, and I make a very long and grumpy audit of my flight sim directory and addons ready for a reinstall the next day, and go to bed. On saturday morning, I make coffee, and check my mail. Dad has sent me some photos, using his new found winzip skills, and while I'm browsing them, an unseasy feeling comes over me. PowerArchiver didn't throw the .dll error it has been complaining about for the last week. FSUIPC.DLL and UNACE.DLL - related? Maybe....put FSUIPC back in FS, and it starts! All I can say is 'What in the name of sanity is going on?' But once on the runway, all my 2D panels are black, just like when I first got FS9 last year. Remembering that it was a video driver problem, I go to update, and see that the driver has stepped back to sometime last summer! Eh?! I reinstall a current driver, cross my fingers, and FS is fine! :o Only after several minutes of pondering what in Dog's name has happened, does the 'last known good configuration' come hazily back to my memory. Then the penny drops...... All I have to do is check all my other drivers, jump in to FS and enjoy....
  6. Thanks for the help Peter, unfortunately I'm no nearer a solution. I tried renaming the .cfg, but I get a CTD during the initial loading. I'v also tried to your suggestions about the flight files to no avail. I can't think of anything else so it looks like a long day of reinstalling FS. All this for a small experiment in overclocking! I blame Mr. Talisker!
  7. This is a great one! I mildly overclocked my CPU (I'm talking about 10Mhz on an XP2400). FS crashed when loading. I rebooted, reset the CPU, and boom, no more FS. I can boot with FSUIPC and FSNAV.DLL removed from the modules folder. With either of them in, FS will not start. I have removed every file I can see that relates to FSUIPC and downloaded the latest version. Still a no starter. I know I'm probably looking at a reinstall of my 20Gb FS folder (and a wasted weekend  ) , but on the off chance that anyone has seen this, and knows a cure, please post here! Thanks, Gareth Evans
  8. Mine connects via USB.....Oh dear, I was looking forward to trying that out  Thanks anyway....
  9. Hi, I acquired a free (!) Palm M130 the other day. I know it's not the most up to date model, but this is my first one of these things. I was thinking of trying to set it up to use GPSOut, as a 'stand alone' moving map when in FS. Unfortunately, I'm a total newbie to this (although I run 3 machines and WideFS) and have stumbled at the first hurdle. Where are people getting their mapping software from? Are there any free sources? Lastly, is there a total newbies guide to getting this going? Thanks for any help, Gareth Evans
