  1. Pete, it's quite long and related to having FSX and FS9 on the same machine, using ActiveCamera (middle button) in FS9 and mouse look in FSX ('o' or any other keystroke but the mouse click), and one PS/2 port ONLY on my latest motherboard. The story just only starts here so I'll wind up by saying 'I wish it were possible' and 'thank you'.

(If anyone gets interested let me know, I can tell the whole story).

    Cheers,

    Ig.

  2. Hello All,

Is it possible to have WideClient window always ontop (active) to make sure it always have the keyboard focus (for SendKeysPresses)? Is there a setting for it? I would rather use ButtonKeys instead of SendKeyPresses, but my software that runs on the client in the background can only generate keystrokes, not buttons unfortunately. Otherwise anyone heard of a converter that translates/assigns keystrokes to buttons, if there is any?

    Thanks,

    Ig.

  3. I thought you wanted advice about doing things in FSUIPC

Yes, Pete, I wanted advice about doing things in FSUIPC and I got it, thank you very much. But even before FSUIPC the joyistick must still send some inputs to it, and I was confused in this part. I hope that shows I was not just inattentive to your helpful directions.

  4. So, simply do NOT program the release to do a VIEW RESET. I already told you that too! If the release sends nothing to FS it won't change views again! It won't even know you released it! Didn't you bother to read my original reply at all?? :-(

Thank you, Pete, unfortunately I did not understand what you meant by 'do not program the release to do a VIEW RESET'. Let's take my CH YOKE, the default non-specially prorgrammed signals sent by the HAT through CH Manager to Windows are DX buttons 25, 26, etc. to 32. So, I'm trying to follow your logic now: do you want me to leave alone these default buttons in CH Manager and go directly to FSUIPC in the game, then assign each of the needed dx input (HAT moves left-right, etc.) IN FSUIPC to the required function without adding VIEW RESET? Did I get you right?

Thanks again, and pls trust me I read your posts several times, I'm just not as smart as you are, no wonder. :)

    Igor.

  5. The view controls (View left, etc) are all "sticky". Normally the hat "off" action sends a view reset to reset the view to the front. All you need to do is program the 8 directions with views and not program the release to do a reset.

Does it mean that I need to reassign the HAT of my joystick to 8 (or 4) keystrokes? I guess yes. But then, what am I gonna do with these new assignments? Let's say I've assigned HAT Right move to KEYPAD 6 (or vice-versa). So now, when I move the HAT to the right it will be sending Keypad6. The VIEW in 2D cokpit will turn to the right and stay there as long as I'll be holding the hat to the right. But I want to release the hat and still have the VIEW looking to the right. I can of course program the joystick so that it will be continuously sending NUMPAD6 keystroke to the sim, but this is no good. I think FSUIPC can help me here and I did it long ago, but can not remember. Is it (the view switching behaviour) something related to the NUMPAD LOCK status? If so, I wish I could circumvent the NUMPAD LOCK (not use it at all, it's busy for smth. else).

Also, I'd like to have a direct access to the Spot view in FS9 (from any 2D or VC etc. views) like it is now in FSX, and assign it to a button on my joystick. How can I do that with FSUIPC?

    Thanks again,

    Igor.

  6. Hello All,

Does anyone know if it is possible to invoke Panel9+ (higher number) with FSUIPC? I've got, say 20 panels, and I'd like to assign a button to open up Panel15. Is it possible with FSUIPC? This is for FS9, but I guess same will apply to FS9. :)

Another question, if you remember, there are side views (bitmaps) in FS9. You can open them with HAT left/right etc. Can I make them sticky (not press and hold types) with FSUIPC. Unfortunately I don't remember, I think I did some retrofits using this feature in FSUIPC.

    Thanks.

  7. Pete, the above is just my first test (or long forgotten one to be exact) of sending a simple key (R in this case). Besides, it is easy to check in the word editor if the key is being sent (unlike F9). :)

I confirm it ® is sent to the Client (it is being typed) each time I press my joystick button, since I was not able to assign F9 keypress to do that.

F9 keypress on the Server seems to be unable to save Parameter 1. Still a question?

Unfortunately my Apllicatin (Shoot) on the Client PC does not 'feel/sense' the keypress R generated by WideClient.exe when I send the command from the Server. But as I said, Notepad starts typing if I open it.

    Thanks.

  8. Sorry, I'm having a problem here. I'm trying to send properly my 1st key to the Client yet, but it does not work.

    1.WideClient.ini

    [user]

    Log=Errors+

    KeySend1=82,8

In FSUIPC I assign keypress F9 KEYSEND 1-255 (WideFS) Parameter 1

Nothing is sent. When I return back to FSUIPC/Key Presses/ and review F9 keypress it always shows Parameter 0 to some reason? Any idea here?

    Thank you.

  9. Pls help me out with this:

I need to send Joystick 1 - Button 9 from my FS9 to the WideClient machine. I have a program running on the WideClient PC that understands standard joystick buttons under WinXP.

Also, pls give me just one example how to send a key to the client (let's say F9):

    1) On the WideServer I run FSUIPC/Key Presses Tab/

    2) Set the Key I want to program

    3) Control sent when keys pressed: KEYSEND 1-255 (WideFS)

Parameter: ????? for key F9. Where is the table for all keyboard presses and, perhaps, joystick buttons?

    Many thanks.

  10. Guys, I have an extra analogue axis (usb slider dx with a lever), that I want to use as a reverser control. The procedure I will be using is as follows: the throttle - to IDLE (I have a single one already calibrated properly in FSUIPC for the dead zone), then flip the position of the slider to activate the REVERSER control.

Please advise how I can I assign my axis to the Reverser control in the Axis Assignment Tab of FSUIPC 4.09? In the list of the set controls I can't find anything relevant to the reverser.

Another idea, which is good but less attractive, is to assign a certain zone of the slider to sending permanently F2 key while in the zone. Is it possible?

    Many thanks for your answers.

    Ig.

  11. Otherwise just hit B key about 10 miles from the runway, you may hit it as many times as you want, and you'll get the QNH altitude on your altimeter. Now look at the airport map and learn its elevation. Difference between your current alt reading and elevation will give the current altitude above the ground if the area around the runway is more or less flat. You may also want to install a free radar altimeter on your panel that shows you clearance above the ground.

  12. Thanks for the answer, but I was asking from the perspective of the CPU overhead of the PC running FS9. To explain it, say I dont really care how fast or even nice the undocked panel will perform on the second monitor, since usually I use it for simple reference of frequencies, dme, squawk etc. What I care though is how will it affect overall performance of my FS9? What is more expensive for the CPU? To feed the second hardware port or maxivista virtual port for running simple undocked panels of FS9? What would you think?
