  1. Bill Womack...! discussing building PAKT...! who cares about the slopes!!!

    Seriously, I am a bit with Nick and Holger on this. Recently, I've been online more, so it's not an issue. I figure it would be if I am using a PAKT with slopes, and then someone not using it lands also! Weird graphics I guess.

    Like Holger mentioned, there's other options out there also if AI is a necessity.

  2. This will cost you Wayne but... since you asked...

    Just that a little trip over to FSAddon and get your hands on:

    - Misty Fjords (and then forget about all the other places you ever flown)

    - Vancouver + (for the best of BC. Forget the super enhanced Vancouver City and hit the mountains!!)

    - Did I mention the Lake Wenatchee add-on (my personal favorite Washington State mountain strip).

    - Of course, you can also save some money for the upcoming Tongass Fjord...

    Can I stop now.

    Warning: This post was not paid by FSAddon... Just by a big fan and satisfed customer...

  3. Thanks for the replies... You might not believe me, but this is actually the first time I find out what "blurries" are. Like I said, first time ever my FS those this, and in just one particular area.

    Could of been one of those "moments" as well. I will try another flight tonight.

    Jon (from memory, I am at work):

    - P4 3.0

    - 1.5 GB ram

    - ATI X800 Pro (Omega drivers)

    - 4 AA, 8AF

    Frames locked at 35 (and usually rarely dip under 25).

    Sorry for lack of details, will post more tonight. But will also give it another spin to see if it duplicates.

  4. Hi guys,

    I have installed, and enjoyed very much, Vancouver +. Anything with the name Holger Sandmann (and now John Patch) attached to it is a "no-brainer" decision to purchase.

    I have been flying mostly the northern and northwestern area of the coverage only. A few days ago, I faced a weird problem when I flew from Nanaimo to Hope, following a "sight seeing" route.

    It seems that I have some ground texture problems, but only in the Vancouver city area, and along the beginning of the Fraser, about to Pitt Meadows. Just plain weird, and I never encoutered such issues before.

    To note: the rest of the area is simply awesome, and I have zero problems.

    A few pics (those are around the Fraser, but same issue in downtown area):

    Any suggestions would be welcomed...

  5. I agree.

    I have a "fresh" install of FS9.1

    I am still tweaking, and reinstalling slowly (but surely) and being very selective in doing so.

    I will simply edit my fs9.cfg with Jon settings, just to see if there's a difference.

    Also, I was in approach to CYPK when I noticed it, and was dealing with some turbulence and not great weather... I had my hands full. Could simply be that the textures were taking a bit longet to load... :lol:

  6. Thanks for the tip Jon.

    This is what I use (based on tips offered by our friends at FlightScenery):

    TERRAIN]

    TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000

    TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000

    TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000

    TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21

    TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8

    TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5

    TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1

    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=0

    TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9

    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.5

    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=5

    I noted a few differences. I will try it out. But like I said. NOT a show stopper at all!!

  7. Once again, another terrific product by the FSAddon team!

    I had imposed myself a "only after XMas" rule before getting Van+, and stuck to it. Since my wife didn't buy me ANYTHING for Xmas, I figured I deserved something!!

    Back home last night from the usual Xmas travelling. In front of PC in a few minutes and then to the good ol' Simmarket.

    Installation was flawless and I was parked at CYPK in no time. Loaded my 182RG, and off we went.

    Well, after a 2 hour tour all over the place (following only my Vancouver VFR sectional) I am once again amazed by the work of Holger, and impressed by this first payware work from Jon. Very, very good...

    Only minor issue I found, was with the ground textures in Vancouver, and the photoreal around SFU. They didn't seem to load entirely or something. I did not investigate much. All the rest was near perfection. Can't wait to get home tonight and load up the Scout to go explore some valleys...

  8. Holger!

    Didn't you get the memo about the XMas holidays being canceled?

    I am mean, what are we supposed to do now? Not only are you the most classiest of fs designers, the best at first hand service, still support and publish freeware, collaborate with other designers to make them benefit of your talents, check 100 different freeware daily...

    Enjoy your holidays my friend! Safe travels, and come back in top shape in January. I have the feeling you will once again surprise us all in 2006!

  9. Read some tidbits abouth the upcoming Freight Dogs, and looked at some of the screenies that included some magical words like "Stewart" and "Wrangell".

    Will the included airport sceneries (not sure a list is available yet) be compatible with other add-on's (UT, Misty Fjords, upcoming Tongass Fjords, etc...). FSAddon is a champion of that, so I was just curious...

  10. But I know it's in the back of your head François!! Think about it. Complete coverage from lower BC right up to almost Juneau.

    Misty Fjords, Vancouver vol. 1, the much awaited Tongass Fjords, then Vancouver vol. 3, vol. 4.... I smell a winner here... Not that many airports once north of Vancouver Island, and Holger already did some of his magic a bit further north with one of his freeware package... need I say more!
