  1. I use Vista Home Premium 64-bit and had no issues with registering FSUIPC or WideFS when following the instructions supplied. Jeff
  2. Just a minor thing. With the 4.061 beta installer now recreating the DLL.XML file it is no longer keeping my previous True value i.e. if I had FSUIPC4 previously installed but had configured it to be disabled, after running the 4.061 installer, FSUIPC4 is now enabled. Jeff
  3. Firstly thanks for the update and please do not let the "why FSUIPC?" minority attempt to diminish what I, MS (shown by the MVP designation), and I'm sure many other in the silent majority see, is your significant contribution to the flightsim community now and through the years. In my tests last night with 4.022 I did not see any obvious improvement in frame rates between it and 4.02. I was still seeing the 15-20% drop you saw in your own original tests. Regards, Jeff
  4. As I notice in the FSUIPC4 Offsets Status PDF that you have a "?-SimC" for Pitch (0578), Bank (057C) and Heading (0580) just thought I'd let you know that I have a tool I use which writes to these and they seem to work with no issue with FSUIPC4. Jeff
  5. In Canada most of the automated ones give a maximum of 9 SM and in the US it is usually 10 SM. For manually measured ones however, in Canada the usual maximum is 15 SM (for I'd estimate 95% of them), with a few giving maximums greater than that. In the US, 10 SM is the normal maximum for manually measured ones (i.e. same as automated ones for the US) however in some areas e.g. military bases in the desert areas of Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and California, you'll can sometimes see visibilities in their METARs of 30 SM and above.
  6. Maybe I'm just an original thinker :-) OK, kidding aside, I'd just guess that most users either thought it did what I suggested anyway, hadn't noticed what it did, don't play with options that much, dont' press the button, or, don't care. Firstly, thanks for considering this. I'd go more with the "Weather settings off". No problem. That's better than I expected.
  7. While I appreciate the need for the Minimum Weather Defaults button (for example I use ActiveSky and pressing it is a requirement to use it properly) I noticed today that it seems a bit aggressive in what it resets. For example, on the Technical tab, it will reset to off such items as "Stop cockpit sizing and moving" and "Control spike elimination". I cannot see how these are required for minimum weather, and wonder if therefore FSUIPC could in future releases leave these, and other items unrelated to weather, in the state the user has set them to when this button is pressed. Thanks in advance for considering this.
