  1. Hi all,

I can't believe I missed this release until just last week! It's a great package and I'm enjoying it a lot. I do have one question: how do you set the course when using an ILS landing? I see where you can change the heading but not the course. I've read everything I can find but may have missed it?

    Thanks, Rob A

  2. Hi all,

Stopped by to say thanks for a suberb enhancement for FS. I used one of Holger's Misty Fyords startup flights and saw Chris' clouds for the first time, doing a random install and start FS option. I couldn't believe my eyes as I turned toward Wrangell some miles away. I've been in this area for real and the similarity is breathtaking. Add in the true look and feel of clouds and the immersion is complete. Is this a great pastime or what?

    Having fun,

    Rob A

  3. Francois,

Nice shots! I do hope the passenger in your second screenie got on board ok, seeing as how you took off with the stairs still down and the door open. he he

I believe a the wheels are this way to compenstate for the highly detailed interior, to keep the frames from plummeting. I'll get the CD to help with the MAAM projects and live with the fewer wheel and fuselage points. Close up it does look pretty rough but I can live with it.

  4. Hi Bob!

Just back from a long absence and now have Emma running again. :-)

Funny thing.... I d/l the upgrade (full install) and installed it without having to input a serial code or anything. It looks great and works great too! Go figure. ;-) I haven't had FS2k2 on my puter for ages and had the Emma scenery plus the restoration pak installed in a separate directory outside FS9. Don't know why it installed without checking for a prior 2k2 install or anything.

Anyone notice the guitar player actually is strumming the guitar? he he

  5. Milton,

Thanks so much for creating this aircraft. I knew it would be great but I waited until I had a few hours flying time before posting. Yes, it is great! The dirty scheme is outrageous. he he Looking forward to trying out some of your included flights.

  6. Jun,

  Funny! You must have a heck of an eye to notice it. he he I did a number of Caribbean sceneries and am in most of them somewhere, mostly not too noticeable. ;-) I also put other members of TCA in my Carib sceneries including the Boss at Paradise Island. Great fun to design scenery.

  7. Don and Dr,

I can only confirm all you've said about beta testing. I've been testing Radar Contact since 1999 and Version 1. We're testing Ver 4 now and getting some great stuff concerning proper ATC in the European areas. :-) (yes, i'm allowed to say that ;-) )

Testing can indeed be drugery at times but I enjoy it and work with a great group of varied individuals from around the world.

I remember someone not long ago at the general forum at Avsim asking about how to become a beta tester. All I can say is be careful of what you ask for! lol

  8. Don,

I had a similar problem when beta testing Chris Wilke's new IWI scenery. It turned out to be a rogue AFCAD file that caused elevations to be wacky like your screenshot. Just a guess.

When I first loaded up KORS I had a terrible looking hill and a lot of the buildings were stuck into a hillside. I deactivated all my terrain mesh files from the scenery library that might be in the general area and put them back in one at a time. Turns out that Eddie Denny's USA mesh (two large files) caused a problem. Also, a set of mesh files that were for British Columbia made the same hills that Denny's mesh did. Took over an hour to test and find them all, but now I'm as happy as an Orca in summer!

Richard, haven't seen you since the Avsim Conf at Lake Tahoe but naturally I've kept up with your work. ;-) Nice job on Orcas and I'm looking forward to many more.

ps Francois, I read the docs (color pdf) start to finish. Awesome!

  9. Great stuff, Don! Maybe I could have avoided this problem in the link if I'd read some of that firstoff! Took my new S43 to Orcas Island and was just sitting there minding my own business when I noticed what appeared to be smoke out the port window. Going to spot view I was greatedd wtih an engine fire! Call in the amphip water bomber!! ;-)

  10. Got the new panel cfg and it works great, Joe! :D Thanks for taking the time to modify it and send it to those of us that requested it. I went to a url that showed some guys making a Storch from scratch. It took them 3 yrs to the first flight. Fascinating to read about and the sim model is a blast to fly.......low and slow.

  11. Just a couple of comments. If I had realized buying Geo 6 through SimMarket supports this forum, I'd have done that. Next time for sure. It looks like the service from SimMarket is just as good as Lago. :-)

Geo 6 is another masterpiece from Richard Goldstien. Dropped straight into my 'ol Win98 AMD 1.4 sys without a hiccup and looks great!

    Best regards,

    Rob

  12. Bill,

Looks like we won't meet in Victoria for coffee if you're going fishing but some other time for sure. :D Looks like I'll have to take an aerial tour of Victoria area in a float plane instead. lol

  13. Joe,

I just flew out of Teiton yesterday afternoon. Low on fuel going to Packwood I came down to Teiton to fill up. The pumps weren't working at the dock so I took the Jeep to the airport and filled up some can for the EFFC Lake. Heard about the fire at Lauren's Sandwich Shop after landing at Packwood. I had earlier reported about some scruffy characters lurking around when I got the gas. ;-)

  14. Joe,

Verrrrrry nice! :D Dropped in late this afternoon (running low on fuel) in my Republic Seabee and took the loaner Jeep to the airport for avgas. (dockside tanks were empty). Drove like heck back to the Seabee and took off for Packwood before it got too dark. Didn't want to stay as there were some pretty shady looking characters there and I was hoping to get to Lauren's Sandwich shop before she closed! Got there just in time and Lauren was so impressed with my description of the awesome descent into the river valley to Packwood that she said I could stay the night......as long as I didn't mind sleeping with the dogs. Great scenery and trip and the food and company at Packwood it the best.
