You're both correct. I didn't do a good job of the basic MS settings, and I did have duplicate axes in my settings. Once I eliminated the duplications and cleared the CH Yoke in Slew mode (MS settings), the Sim was back to normal in Slew mode (no spinning), albiet with no ability to slew at this point.
However, in MS I cannot seem to set up Slew with the CH Yoke without reinstituting the spinning. I'm not sure whether it is me, MS, or possibly a defect in my CH Pedals. I had a major control failure a couple of weeks ago that was preceeded by a recurring tendancy for any aircraft to very slowly turn right in normal flight. Then, a few flights later, everything went nuts. It somehow resolved itself after a long period of computer shutdown. I still don't know the cause. I have noticed that the slow turning tendancy has returned (this time to the left) but I think this may be due to my inability to reset the FSUIPC-Joysticks-Slew Axes-Slew Heading value back to 0. It seems to be stuck at -66.
I am a scenery developer for a couple of different Flight Sim organizations, and good slew control is essential for this work. I have reconnected my old joystick and have obtained pretty good control in slew mode but heading change is somewhat jerky where it wasn't before. I am able to stop at a precise point in slew without any wander on any axis using the joystick, but until my recent addition of the CH throttle quadrant, I was able to do the same with the CH Yoke and Pedals. I can't seem to find the combination of settings that will allow me to return to the status quo.
Just getting to this point, however, is due the the time and advice offered by you guys (Pete and Frank) and for that I am very grateful.
