  1. Installed the latest versions following your instructions. No more FSX crashes. THANKS! Just to make sure I hadn't done anything stupid before, I then tried "f" again and it worked. I tried "t" again and the crashes came back. I'm now running the newest release. Leads me to believe something in "t" had conflicted with FSX-A running on Windows 8.1 but whatever you changed in the code afterwards removed the conflict. By FSX-A I mean Acceleration. By the way, the Add-on Menu crash did happen only with "t", for example when doing drop down to find FSUIPC or move to [sDK] Tools memu, but did not happen with any other version installed or no FSUIPC installed, from which I can only conclude that, no matter how far-fetched it may sound, the "t" install was something to do with the phenomenon. It may have been related to my FSX install (or other add-ons in combination with "t" alone). I cannot imagine how or why. Thanks for the help and for your dedication to an indispensable piece of software for FSX users everywhere. ian
  2. Hi Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I installed 4.939t to replace 4.939f. After this, FSX started to crash after aircraft initial movement or when dropping down Add On menu. I removed FSUPIC from dll.xml and the crash did not occur. I re-installed 4.939f and, again, the crash did not occur. I'm running FSX-A on Windows 8.1. Is there any other information you might need from me to pinpoint any error on my part or possible other issue? Thanks ian
  3. Appreciate the help, Pete. I'm off to grab a coffee and headed straight for the SDK to do what I should have done before!! BTW - I don't know how you manage to keep up with all the support and maintenance and new development but everyone in the FSX world using FSUIPC (and that's pretty much everyone) has to be entirely grateful. We should give you a Gold Medal and put you in the Hall of Fame or whatever. Or at least a few pints of beer.
  4. It's very strange because I have Acceleration installed following original installation of FSX Deluxe. Can I go straight from an original Deluxe install to Acceleration, ignoring SP1 and SP2? I thought that was OK. I had no prior issues or start-up warnings - especially with FSUIPC installs. Something went wrong along the way with the FSX installs, I suppose. Though it works following the warning, I think I'll try a complete FSX uninstall and re-install, if necessary with the SP1 and SP2 patches. Thanks for the help, Pete, and for taking time over the weekend to reply so quickly. ian
  5. Hi Pete Yes it runs - it's also running now if I pick Yes to run FSUIPC. It looks like it may have something to do with SimConnect - as you say. 6. Hi! Since installing newest release I've had a problem getting FSX running. If FSUIPC is not installed it works fine. The last version also ran without problems. I'm attaching a screenshot of an error I get after quite a wait as FSX starts up. Any thoughts? ian http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2015/02/01/FSUIPCError.jpg
