  1. It was a very nice day for flying. Winds were light out of the WSW and the weather was as published.

We took off and made an rather immediate climbing/banking turn right and saw the valley in front of us. After flying a short time the lake came into view and we headed towards its left bank looking for the road.

    The Lake:

We followed the road towards the left and after a short while we saw the railroad and turned right to follow it through the winding valley along the river until we saw the airport to our right.

    The airport:

We flew and entered the downwind pattern and slowed down to descend finally turning and making a final giving the crabs a little fun as we adjusted for leeway.

    Approach:

We landed and turned around towards the end of the runway and taxied back to listen to the ocean, the hard working workers and greet our intended customer.

  2. Fritz sure made a mess in the back of the plane. I think he was sampling things last night.

    A look over lake Quinalt:

The famous fork in the road. I guess I should follow the left fork !

The directions were good enough to find the airport too.

  3. I always have blurred images with my mediocre system.... one of the reasons I am still not too fond of photosceneries..... the other reason is the lack of 'depth', lack of seasons, eternally the same shadow, and above all... there is nothing to 'guess' and 'dream' about....

Perhaps like me it might have to do with the tri-focals too !

  4. Well,

As I was about to get ready for take-off the tower called and advsied me to tie down everything as a nasty storm was about to hit. 100 Km/h winds and gusts above that. Not normal for where I live.

My power went out for 6 hours. No flying on Sunday.

  5. Hi Darryl

Len Hickmans sounds should be on his site somewhere - http://www.lenshanger.co.uk/loband/lowindex.htm

The ones from me I will dig out and mail you Monday.

Thanks very much. I was on his site before but got nowhere with AVSIM....but !!

I can now say that today my brain and AVSIM seem to be getting along quite well. I changed strategy and used a search for FSE on AVSIM, by Author and in Scan Mode. I scrolled to Leonard Hickman and found not only the sounds but a whole bunch of FSE for FS2004 files too!

  6. I found some FS2004 scenery that was created specifically for this airfield and I thought I would share it with you..found on AVSIM .. or was it flightsim.. but it was there.

Here are two views in opposing direction relative to the runway.

Just kept this one under the 750 pixel limit... :!:

Maybe this afternoon I will get to fly the first leg now that I have had replies to my other questions about FSSE files and other airports that I could not find.

Many thanks to all those who replied and have helped. :D

  7. Interesting to hear about these various problems. I hope I do not get too much of those things happening to me.

I did recently purchase Emma Field 2004 from them and it went very smoothly as did my rather late purchase of a license for FSE 2004.

I even went to my listed items and received the passcodes with no trouble.

I did notice that their forum does have replies from tech support that are very recent. It almost seems that someone is listening but perhaps they are forced to have selective hearing.

  8. Someone had to start a new thread on the number 3 tour so I decided to go for it.

I wanted to start at 1 then 2 and finally three but I seem to have run into some brain problems and think that my FS2004 and FSSE 2004 might only like the newer version..so that is where I am.

So far, it has been a full day of getting partially ready. Downloading tour files, finding scenery files, finding registration codes for FSSE, discovering that things don't work as I would like, and finally getting Rwy12L so that some of the newer stuff might work too!

After making my printer do things that it has not done since I got it..like almost 80 pages printed just for the tour and finally getting at least one of the airports to appear, I am ready for night-nite..and a few drams of something to calm my frazzeld mind.

Anyway..here is a pic of 4S6-Tieton (the FS2002 scenery version), so far the only airport that I have configured. Note the garrish trees as that was noted as being a needed item for the airpot scenery that I downloaded.

Maybe I might get to fly this tour one day.

  9. Jaap references many of the sceneries to "The One Stop Shop" Sadly I do not have room at present to host them but if you come across any that you cannot find elsewhere (or don't have the time to search) drop me a line saying what you want and I will mail the files to you. I still have them all on my HD.

    Sorry for the inconvenience :)

    Hi,

I happen to have FSSE 2004 and it apears..so far.. that I cannot use the SE1 files, etc so unless that can be altered I have to stick to Tour III.

Part of the info suggests that it would be a good idea to get two sets of files,

Len Hickmans sounds_for_fse.zip that are supposed to be on AVSIM but I could not find them there. Any ideas?

Also the sound sets on http://www.stanco.uk are not there. Any ideas as to how or where one might find these?

I hope to actually start the tour but my printer is very busy with those wonderful color maps.... and the 50! page instructions. WOW !! Talk about someone who has been very conscientious and very busy.

thanks for taking the time to read this...

  10. Thanks Francois,

I have been spending some quality time with Fritz over the weekend

and he introduced me to some of the almost regulars at Emma Field.

He lets me call myself CANUCK and painted that on my plane while I was asleep.

I have been hanging around the hangar for some time but still can't find the beer tent.

Those wolves at night are quite the creatures.

I have also been visiting this forum regularly and enjoying the interaction and frequent activity that it spawns.

One of the reasons that I came to Emma had something to do with your name. I have read some of your articles in Computer Pilot and enjoyed them all. (At least I think it was you..you get the credit anyway :)

    P.S. Happy Birthday from Canada

  11. Hi..

    Just for information

I was flying online on Sunday afternoon and while traversing a spot the adventure message indicated theat the server had disconnected from the session. That was around 4:30 - 5:00 PM EDT.

I think I was the only one online at the time as "canuck"
