  1. You'll love Emma Alex , a beautiful corner of the FS world.

No question. I have many of the other Georenders. For some reason never got into Emma before.

    François,

how do I became a member? Does it involve tar and feathers? Or is it just beer?

  2. More blogs... yeaaaah !!!

Foxpro eh !? I used to dabble in that, when I was young.. Foxpro was young too at that time.. actually I dabbled in DBase.... before they started giving it numbers   And what was this other wonderful database progrma on the PC... ummm.. Rexbase?? Can't remember. Try not to get old !!

Hey. I'm getting old too. Been doing it since dBase III days (missed dBase II). Have had every version of Fox since they started. Been a Fox MVP, writing articles, giving lectures for years. Still do (besides using .Net also). :)

Anyway, enough of that. Back to aviation!

  3. Chalks air crash in Miami - First time in the history of the airline, the oldest airline in operation in the USA (since 1919).

At first count, at least 14 dead. No word on what caused it.

Flight was going from Miami to Bahamas (Bimini).

Sad story for one of my town's pride and joy.

  4. Weeeellll, on the other hand, Vancouver is only a short hop from Seattle, Orcas, Harvey, Emma, even Wenatchee, and with Mega scenery PacNW, you have a pretty good "field of view"

True. I have some of the georenders (not Orcas and Emma). Diamond Point is close by. Visctoria (V05) is nice and even Waldronaire (free scenery) is close by.

  5. Super! Glad you agree, we'll gladly chip in on a few extra oxygen cylinders and maybe a custom wheel chair with a full set of flight controls!

Just kidding of course. Its a real pleasure to be able to experiance something as real as it gets without actualy being there! Night flights hi above it all, from Vancouver to Prince Ruepert will do it for me. Thank You

What do you mean night flights high above it all??

I want VFR, down in the weeds!

MF and V+ already do that for me. All of Vancouver Is. North to eventually reach MF would be great! maybe someday...

  6. I combined Frank's compatible sceneries into one add-on folder. Thus, in the scenery subfolder I have three files: Cbb7.bgl (9/20/2003), Cyse.bgl, and Cyse_A16N.bgl.

That's good info Holger. I indeed had the older file by Frank Betts (from the time I was using FS2002 years ago). I will re-download his newer file and apply the changes Jon and you suggested

    Happy flying!

  7. There is a problem with canada_short_legs_2.zip (old FS2002 Canada Short Legs by Frank Betts).

    Even though you say:

bc2.zip - Stein Valley airstrips, by James Belk, Avsim

partially compatible: CCWM OK, CHVR partially on ridge, CLSV not, CUSV not. Remove files:

    • AF2_CLSV.bgl, AF2_CUSV.bgl, bchi_2.bgl, bchi_5.bgl, bclo_2.bgl, bclo_5.bgl, bclo_9.bgl, bclo_exc.Bgl, HI.bgl, HI_Exclude.bgl

I found I had to remove ALL the files, not just the BGLs you mention as CBB7 Tipella had a building and tress right on the runway.

  8. Personally (not being a technician, granted) I think it is becasue of Alex's avatar. As I remember the muppets show something weird ALWAYS happened to Beeker !

Now, you may have something there! Beaker thanks you for remembering!

Hey Francois, you never sleep? It must be late for you! :)

  9. Awesome indeed!

I've been in Vancouver once a few years ago. Was really nice to see the sights so realistically done again.

Even in my old machine, capped at 21 fps I get 12-18 fps in around downtown Vancouver, with full marinas and boats. Not bad at all!

I find that the worst FPS performance is when getting close to those intricate bridges. They are very detailed and harder on the PC (I go down to maybe 6 fps at times). Those bridges are really nice anyway!

And the AI Beaver on floats in the harbor is a hoot!

    Well done!

  10. The most likely reason for this to happen is that the Vancouver+ config panel could not find the FS9 scenery.cfg file. When this happpens, a message box is displayed indicating that the scenery.cfg file could not be found. Did you guys see such a dialog?

Nope. No dialog. All other commercial programs/sceneries install fine. V+ is fine after manually adding to Scenery Library. No big problem.

  11. Victor & John,

I had the same problem. Downloaded and installed just now. Accepted the entries in the config screen and pressed Ok and Save.

The FS Scenery Library screen did not have V+ entries. Had to add them manually. Took a while to find as I'm used to looking in Addon Scenery folder but found them in the FS9\FSAddon tree.

  12. When we're ready....... 8)

    François:

A good answer! I have been in the software business for 20 years. I have done Beta testing of countless software (mostly for Microsoft). It is amazing to me that market pressures push companies (MS included in some cases) to deliver before it's ready, therefore starting work on an SP1 to fix known important bugs the very same day the software ships!

I rather wait a little longer and have a reasonably stable and working program.

It's on my purchase list. :)

  13. They are my own mods, made over a long period to fit Little Bandit with Simflyer stack and GNS530. The mods I have just fitted are the RXP Flightline T and Sandel TAWS...I fitted these today. I'm afraid my Panel.cfg would be of no use to you as it is mainly concerned with the SimFlyers stuff and changing the Forward_Left and Forward_Right Views to VC instead of Bitmaps. If you just want to fit the RXP instruments then I could copy and paste the relevant parts of the Panel.cfg as the original lines are left in but REMMED out so you could see how to modify your own Panel.cfg

The Turbocharged Engine change is in the public domain and can be downloaded here:-

    Beautiful work Peter!

I was considering buying the new Carenado 206. Instead, after looking at your panel I purchased the A36 instead. It is being installed now as we speak. You should get a commission on the sale! :)

I am definitely interested in your panel.cfg to make the mods.

I will download whatever other gauges are needed after I do a couple of familiarization flights with my shiny new A46 (I understand it comes with Reality XP).

    Nice work!
