Sportpilot Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 I am starting to have a problem with fsx crashing. I noticed the problem after I had load REX 2.0 but don't think this caused the problem. What my fsx does is I will be flying an aircraft that uses FSUIPC4 and the gauges and panels get verticle lines going through them, next I get a black screen and have to hard boot. I have been on lots of different forums and everyone wants me to spend money on hardware, Why do I think it is caused by FSUIPC4? Well all my aircraft that don't use FSUIPC4 work wonderfuly and never an issue. An example of what works, VR FA18E, Aerosoft DHC6, and default 208. Ones that have issues, quality wings 757, Carendo 208 and 340, Wilco rotorcraft. I figured this out couple days ago so I did an other install of FSUIPC and it looked like that took care of the issues. It was working good and I was happy. Then this morning I could even get off the ground without the controls acting up and fsx crashing. I am running fsx gold with acceleration on a Windows 7 Primium 64 bit. I am a not a registered FSUIPC user but if someone can get my planes working again I will register. Thanks in advance.
Sportpilot Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 I have decided to uninstall everything and start over to see if I can isolate the problem. This may take me some time because of all my addons but if I do figure out what is was I will post it in case some else has the same problem.
Ian P Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 It would have been better to put this in Pete Dowson's support forum for FSUIPC, rather than in the FSX general forum. What it sounds like, however, is nothing at all to do with FSUIPC - it sounds like you are running out of RAM. Try turning settings down, or rebuilding FSX.cfg, before you do a full rebuild. However FSUIPC does nothing to graphics and nothing to any aircraft - it's just an interface between the sim and external applications (many of the gauges in complex add-ons are actually run external to the sim - hence the need for FSUIPC). Therefore I do not believe that this is likely to have anything to do with FSUIPC itself. I'll move the thread to Pete's forum for him to look at anyway. Ian P.
Sportpilot Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 You are right about FSUIPC not having anything to do with my problem. After I had posted it I realized that my VR FA 18 E uses FSUIPC and I never had a problem with it. Now that I have uninstalled everything I will slowly and methodically start adding my addons and see what happens. If it happens again and I can't find the addon that does it I will take your advice and turn down the graphics. The reason I did not do this in the first place is my VR FA 18E ran great no problems and that is one of the most complex AC I have and puts my system to the test without a hiccup.
