no joy with mouse clicks in sludge hornet

Hi everyone, I have been trying now for over 2 weeks to map the softkeys on the left & right ddi in the sludge hornet & aerosoft f16 , I've read & re read several times how to do it , also watched a YouTube tutorial , ive also had advice on other forums about doing this , but I just cannot get my Thrustmaster cougar mfd's to work the softkeys, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
