Slow program close of P3D version 3 with PMDG 737 and 777

I found the problem with the slow shutdown of the PMDG 737 NGX in P3D Version 3.1 that I was experiencing after moving from P3D version 3.0 to version 3.1 with the PMDG 737 aircraft.  Others have had the same issue with the PMDG 777 and version 3.1,    This closing of P3D could take up to 30 seconds and while waiting for the final screen that gives the prompt " are you sure you want to close P3D" , P3D say's it is not responding.  With the help of a forum member in the P3D forum on Avsim.com I found what is causing the slow shutdown with the PMDG aircraft, It is the latest version of FSUIPC 4.949  and it's default of saving the last flight. Apparently saving the last flight with the PMDG aircraft takes much more time than any other aircraft, and the screen that says " are you sure you want to exit P3D ( or something similar) will not pop up until this save is finished by FSUIPC. I do not have autosave checked in FSUIPC, so this is the default condition of paid FSUIPC. What I did was to add the line SavePreviousFlight=no in the FSUIPC.ini file under modules in the P3D folder under [General]. Now the shutdown is immediate. This probably would affect the PMDG 777 also.

I have not seen this problem on my setup (Win7-64/FSUIPC 4.949 /P3Dv3.1 (Client only upgrade)).

I do not have SavePreviousFlight=no in the ini file (never prior either). I never use FSUIPC's autosave but I did here for a test without any problems to report.

 

P3Dv3.1 closes in 4 seconds or less with PMDG737NGX (or any other aircraft) with any FSUIPC option(s) On or OFF.

Not everyone has this problem. I have no idea why, I am not a software programmer, just a pilot. Another very experienced simmer suggested that I add this line to the FSUIPC.ini. and when  I did, and it fixed the problem instantly. Two other people emailed me that they had the same issue, added the line, and their problem went away. All I know is it is fixed now.
