No, this won't cause any issues. Your issue sounds like power management is enabled on your hubs, and windows is putting your devices to sleep. Check and disable power management on all your USB hubs/devices.

Power management is "High Performance" and nothing sleeps

The joy ids used are assigned by windows and taken from the registry. They do not need to be consecutive.

Do you actually have an issue?

I sometimes lose a USB device during a flight, I hear the beep beep of windows losing and seeing a usb device again but my yoke or rudder pedals stop working. Unplugging the powered usb hub and back I get everything back except rudder pedals. So I wondered if this was causing a problem?

No point in doing this each time this occurs - they show nothing.
I will look and see if I can reproduce when I get time, but this will be low priority. As you are using an add-on aircraft, especially PMDG, I first need to see if I can reproduce with a default aircraft.

However, you shouldn't need to be continually assigning new repaints of the same aircraft to a profile. Edit your ini and give a shorter/substring name for the aircraft in the profile, one that matches the aircraft with different liveries, i.e. change this:

    to this:

    and

    to

    etc

Thank you for the tip. I did not know about that shortening the title name.

Could you also check the event viewer and show me the contents when you get a CTD. I'm also a bit confused as to when the crash is occurring - is it always during a flight and after you have edited a profile? And is it any change to the profile or just when you add a new aircraft to a profile?
And have you noticed this with any other aircraft or profiles other than your PMDG ones?

No changes to profile. Open FSUIPC after loading in at gate. check box and assign the existing B737 profile. Close FSUIPC. start flight. Randomly 30 minutes -1 hr into flight, p3d disappears. Did flight again 3 hrs no crash after restarting pc. I will check event viewer when I get back home.

Is there still a p3d process running, or has it crashed? And this happened when using P3D, nit FSUIPC (ie. when flying not in the FSUIPC dialog)? You must at least have am FSUIPC6.log - can you attach that? Also your ini.

Ok, so this only occurs when you add a new aircraft to an existing profile (using the UI), and then start a flight? And this same thing happened in previous versions (i.e. not new to 6.0.13)?

It did it again, 30 minutes into a new flight assigning a 737 profile to a new repaint

the sim quickly disappears with no messages

I will PM you my log and ini file

it started when the axis disappearing when creating a profile or adding a repaint to a profile started. 2-3 versions ago?

and I do the flight over, after restarting my computer, the flight works perfectly no sim CTD

  6. p3d 5.1

    fsuipc 6.0.1.3 and previous versions

Adding or editing a profile guarantees my p3d randomly disappears, no error messages, no crash logs

This morning I edited a profile , removed filter checkbox for some assigned axis. departed and later p3d disappeared.

if i start another flight, and assign a repaint to an existing profile, same thing happens

If a flight is loaded up and I depart but edit nothing in the fsuipc menu it operates perfect

fsuipc6 is giving me a headache please help. I have tried deleting the ini and starting over.

I have sent you a previous ini file. How am I the only one seeing this? All my fsuipc troubles started the first time I noticed adding a repaint deleted the axis, and the fixes since my p3d has ctd disappeared if I am editing some data in the fsuipc menu.

I can't see how this can be possible - something else must be going on.... Can you please show me the corrupted ini file.

I assigned a plane to a fsuipc control profile, closed and remembered one more axis I needed to add, opened fsuipc again, checked the box for profile specific the one i just created and added the axis and closed and p3d disappeared again. I am so confused.

If the auto.xx section is formatted like that again I'll send you the file

Usually if its a region specific crash then its weather related. But you are saying that P3D doesn't exit properly, not that its crashing, which is very strange.
I don't know what can cause this, but was just wondering what else is still running in this situation - is FSUIPC still running, and what about any other programs that are either started by FSUIPC or by your FS?

The sim is bare with Activesky running in the background only in normal times.

I get the crash if AS is not running too. I PMd you the log

@B77X I cannot duplicate your issue. However, I have made some minor updates in the following version (to only ask if you want to import the General axes when creating a New profile), so could you try with this version please and let me know how it goes:

    FSUIPC6.dll 492.5 kB · 1 download

Will test and let you know I have small amounts of sim time each week and could not reproduce it 100% each time.

  10. 10 hours ago, John Dowson said:

@B77X Your logs just show FSUIPC closing as P3Dv5 exited. If you didn't exit, then it looks like P3D crashed so its surprises me that there is no event shown in the Windows Event Viewer.

That was what you did for the log you send me? Very strange. I'll take a look later and get back to you.

    John

Yes I did this and P3D disappeared and no logs in event viewer saying P3D had an error.

  11. 8 hours ago, Pete Dowson said:

Really? How was that done? How long has such a bug been there? In FSUIPC4 and 5 too?

    PEte

It must have been intruduced recently in 6.0.11 or close to this version because I have assigned axis without issue when setting up my sim in v4 and upgrading in v5 in the past 2 months also helping others upgrade to v5 only .11 FSUIPC did this happen with in a new aircraft going to FSUIPC menu and assigning that repaint to a profile. the [axis] section of the profile i was assigning deleted itself.

  12. 16 hours ago, John Dowson said:

I can do nothing with such a report unless you provide me with further information - I need to see your FSUIPC6.log file (generated when such a crash occurs) as well as any event information from the windows event viewer. Your FSUIPC6.ini would also be useful.

    John

I sent a PM with details I hope helps sorry. A question why is this beta version not linked on your forum the old 6.0.1.1 is the only download and I have helped 3 people who tore apart p3d thinking their sim was broken not realising this was FSUIPC deleting their axis.

  13. On 12/9/2020 at 7:38 AM, John Dowson said:

Sorry, of course you are using FSUIPC6 and not FSUIPC7.

Happened again. New aircraft repaint. Load into P3D and up to FSUIPC in sim. Select a profile for this airplane and press OK now Axis section of this profile has no axis listed  it has only rangerepeat line

  14. On 12/6/2020 at 7:34 AM, John Dowson said:

Yes, sounds very strange. I'll keep this open but its difficult to investigate without being able to reproduce.
Were you connected to MSFS when these loss of axes occurred?

Happened in P3D v4.5 a few days ago and now when I just upgraded it happened again in P3D V5.1

  15. On 12/5/2020 at 3:12 AM, John Dowson said:

    Could you clarify please?

When I create a new profile based upon an existing profile, the axes are also copied to the new profile as far as I can tell.

    John

I did a clean ini profile and created an airplane controller profile B747 based on another profile name and the axis did not carry over. Another time I assigned a plane to an existing profile and the axis disappeared. I could not reproduce that every time it is odd.

Ok, I'll take a look. But I see you have also started a new topic:

Presume this is the same issue, no? Why are you posting multiple times for the same issue? Can I delete that post?

Later: I've closed/locked the other support request you have raised and will respond here once I've investigated.

I created a new topic I think I identified the issue but if best to use this topic sure sorry about that!
