  1. we are used to the term "elevator" as that is how they are refered in boat.cfg (Ilan is a pilot not a sailor - it's all based on micro flight). The main problem with vs is that it allowes only 1 "elevator" -just like in aircraft. Subs often (always? - plese corect me TLAM/Red/ Spook) have two, also, in vs they take "stupid" position when placed in front (working backwords) and they often have strange angle when the sub is sailing surficed.

PS That about covers the topic of "diving planes that are only elevators in vs"

  2. It's just a forum Pieter don't get too philosophic about it.. Sure it changed..

There are much less sailors and more motor-boaters and the mentality is a bit defferent. is that bad? -I don't know.

I felt very much like you are feeling, 8 -10 months ago. Than I had some talk with Alan W. and it helped. I got involved in some defferent internet project and learned that VS -forum is not the center of the world.

If the quality of the discussion isn't good enough/doesn't focus on the subject that is interesting for you (I can uderstand that). You should start your own topic and take look for response. I'm sure there are many new or old user that would like to join YOUR discussion topic (take this topic for exemple  )

  3. The ship had to be polish. Think of it - the first sunny day in Dover from ages and the damn bucket had to sink in port... polish luck..

...Come to think abot that.. it's not that bad - the weather is nice - and they don't have to sail anywhere, with or without the escort... what could be better?

  4. Is there a one damn thing you don't know about subs?

btw -sunk mistaken for U-boot - polish luck.

We had another grate crew in that area - U type boat - it was named "Dzik" (Hog in english) - The sub was known as one of the best that operated from Malta. On 5.03.1943 the ship went for his famous patrol that served as a "classic" model for future allied attacks. (and gave them the lead on the "sunked ships list" of the 10 fleet) - the sub finished it's service with 24 marks on the "jolly roger" flag.

If you know about this one, you'll be my sub superhirow TLAM

Adam PS Thanks again for the boat :D

  5. Just downloaded her.. I'm not a greate fan of cold war subs.. but the ones from II WW are my favorites. This one is just fantastic. The texturing, the everything..

+ An american sub was given to polish navy in II WW. It looked very much like this one. It was one of the best crews on Meditherenian (how to speal?) sea.

PS thank again Tlam! (and I love the detail on the AA cannon)

  6. I think that the model is very good for a start. I will be very happy to try her out in the future.

Now we have quit nice group of new vs modelers that may fill the gap (we don't have many new models this days?) after the "classic" members of the forum. Good luck!

  7. Don't worry Jasiu!

I'll tell you what I would do: I woulden't tell anything about the date (2 -3 months? - nothing). I'm also very buisy so I hardly ever tell about my WIP

that way I get much less pressure on finishing it.

Inform us when the new issue is out - thats it . You know that the real life is by far much more importent than the forum.

VSM is your hobby - not obligation. Don't get frustrated - sometimes it will get you 3 months to finish, sometimes 1.

  8. Just downloaded her - it looks like one bit of a hard work. Fantastic detail, good texturing. I don't exactly remember what are the defferencies (I didn't keep the first version). It runs slow on my cranky old PC but I like her.

The layout of the lill tug seems a bit strange to me. Is it sea going or harbour boat? +the idea of putting the hatch to the "crew room" separate to the kitchen and "steering room" is not that good  .

PS Summing it up - superb modeling/loads of hard work - respect.
