  1. Pete, I know you are much too busy to help with beginner level LUA, but is there anyone out there that could hold my hand a little through this process? There are quite a few people on other boards who are looking for a solution to this problem, and I would like to help solve it. Unfortunately I lack the skills at the moment to make it happen. I would even be willing to pay a little for help getting this to work. Reid
  2. The card is read as a joystick. Thanks for your quick help! Reid
  3. I am struggling like many others with making rotary encoders perform well for turning heading indicators, obs, etc that require the ability to have coarse tuning and fine tuning. I am using a simple encoder interfaced through a Bodnar BUO836x card. It shows 2 separate button presses in the Buttons and switches tabs. 1 each for clockwise and counterclockwise. While fiddling with my Goflight RP48, I noticed that there are four different commands sent by the encoder. Clockwise, clockwise fast, counter clockwise and counter clockwise fast. Not sure whether this is done by Goflight hardware or software. I would love to duplicate this for my card. Is it possible through any FSUIPC programming method to duplicate this function? Macro's, Lua's? Any help will be appreciated! Reid
  4. I know this thread is old, but did you find a solution? Reid
  5. An Insufferable fool needs to learn to fish so he can eat for a lifetime... Where in the world can I find those values? I have been through the users guide, advanced users manual and list of FSX controls. If it is not enumerated in the FSUIPC docs somewhere, how do I find the values? Your humble servant awaits you guidance, Sensei.
  6. Pete, I assure you I read your reply. Not understanding what your reply was saying is why I asked for clarification. It is very frustrating as someone trying to learn from scratch how FSUIPC works, to read all of the documentation you have provided, still have questions and be afraid to ask them of you for fear of being berated. I have been working on this problem for literally months and exhausted all of my other options before asking you. http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php/19980-Goflight-Cold-and-Dark?highlight=cold+and+dark Sorry to have been such a nuisance, you obviously do not suffer fools gladly, and I am an unsufferable fool.
  7. I am trying to replicate the functionality of the warning panel in the FSX Cessna C172. I cannot figure out how to tell what data fsx uses to light the warnings ( L Low Fuel R, VAC, OIL PRESS, VOLTS). Can anyone assist? None of these seem to be in the list of standard offsets.
  8. Pete, Thanks for your quick response. I renamed the GFpower.lua file in the modules folder. I changed it to ipcReady.lua and it failed to work--then I dropped the .lua from the name and it worked great. Just wanted to document that here, so someone else can search the answer out and not bother you with it. Would the ipc.runlua("GFpower.lua") statement be the only line in the file named ipcReady.lua if I wanted to do it your recommended way in the future? If so, would that be the exact syntax I would use for that function, and how would I add more lua scripts? Sorry to be a pain, programming is something I have not done any of since a 20 line BASIC program in an intro to computer science class.
  9. My apologies if this question has been asked and answered elsewhere. Is there a way to make the GFpower lua run automatically when the default flight in FSX is loaded? I found how to assign a spare key to it, and when pressed it works perfectly. Is there a simple way to run it without pressing a key? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Reid
