Alan,
Have you emailed the webmaster at virtual skipper just for completeness?

Stunning - absolutely fantastic.

Hello,
I am afraid that you must be slightly more helpfull with the question (and a tadge more liberal with punctuation).
What do you mean start playing? I take it that you can start the application up (if not its in your start menu->programmes somewhere!!).
If you get past this bit, you need to choose a scenary and yacht to sail in (or sub/plane etc) and finally press the 'Sail Now' button.
Hope this helps!

SOLVED!!!!!
It helps if a so called designer can actually read instructions. I needed an extra digit in the p.def files!!!! Added and all ok now.
Pieter - thanks for all your help.
All - Sorry for wasting bandwidth.

Yep - that works fine - even gained a rocket launcer!!!!! :-)
Any other ideas please?
Thanks in advance.

Hello all,
I have been slowly creating my island range, with a few small harbours etc, but have hit a problem which I cannot stop happening.
Anything new I am creating is shown in VS7 as y and z okay, but no x at all (as in eveything is in the same plane!). It looks very strange - almost like a perspective view from the designer (anim8tor) but I have checked the 3ds file and it is 3d (not flat!).
It must be said that this is the first new X file I have made for VS7 - has anything changed?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Ron - I may be wrong but the lagging numeric (0 or 1) is not the duration but the state of the light, 0 being off, 1 being on.
So you only change the state of the light with the second numeral, not set the duration. Could be wrong, but I am using SectorX on a scenary I am doing and had your problem to begin with, but SX put me right!
Hope that helps (and hope thats right!)

Hi Vipes,
Do not fret - the reegistration can sometimes take a while to filter through (up to 2 day s I think). Anyway - it will become active and you will be sailing soon.

Pieter,
Sorry - tried it all out to make sure that mine worked, then wrote from memory! I have now muddied the water somewhat, and appologise...
In VS7 (and 6.x etc) when docked, my boat stays put. When anchored it swings!
Humble appologies for being daft.

Here is my picture for SOTM. It`s Jason Simpson HMAS Darwin at Fehmarn Island (Germany).
Sorry - had a quick scan but cannot find where this Island is - it looks really very well textured. Can someone give me a hint as to which scenary and where (in the scenary) it is.
Thanks in advance, and great picture.

Mine is not swinging when I dock (key D) but is when I anchor (key A).
Are you sure you pressed D and not A

Walla...
Perhaps it was meant to be 'Et Voila'.

Hi Charlotte,
That is exactly what I am saying - just Duarns images are not showing. They stay waiting to load for ages, then timeout and I get the broken picture icon.
I am using Mozilla, but have just tried in IE and got the same result.
I wonder if the site they are hosted on is banned from my work....

I cannot see one picture on this thread from Duarn?
Anyone any ideas?

Can some one please tell me what the trawlers name is please - just had a quick scan for it but cannot find it (also, I assume it is at Charlottes site)
Thanks in advance

Sorry to butt in with my view - but Spook's deck texture is cracking!!
The colours etc look just like 'real' deck. I personally believe all the boats created for the last few months have benefited from careful texturing.
Keep up the good work Alan and Spook!

What a fantastic failure!!!
I just tried to capture the screen as I moved the boat, so that I could post an mpeg of the problem.
Whole computer died and I got a blue screen of death (didn't know you could get that on XP!) Anyway - perhaps someone else could try to capture it happening - my machine is obviously a bit on the lean side for this...

Okay - tried with my favourite yacht (Bavaria), and the scenary changes. I loose lots of things, not sure half but lots.
It does reset if I change scenary and then back again. The moment I change position in the map view, things do a Houdini on me.

Although land locked in Milton Keynes at the moment, I have been sailing since 15 (well over half my life).
Alone, I have sailed from Plymouth UK to the Azores and back and countless other 'smaller jaunts', and with the wife we have sailed the med from Palma to Croatia, through Greece, down to Turkey and across to Malta (wifes home) and sold the boat. I have never forgiven myself for this!
Greece was perhaps my favourite of all....(thinks nice thoughts!)

Thanks for showing that avatar again Charlotte - I was beginning to think I was going mad!
And yes, I spelt my name wrong....

I would like to start a petition which would see the re-instatement of the former 'Charlotte' avatar. Its nice in the morning to be greated with that picture...
Count this as one vote.

Bob,
(Sorry if this has been asked, just got back from sailing about Turkey!)
That is a great shot for your signature. Where is that please?

Sorry, but I must disagree with the 'electonics' on board. If you have that much damp/water in the air/boat, there is something wrong with the boat or ventilation.
I have done 14k miles in a 29ft yacht over a number of years and had two laptops (in those days rather delicate ones!) and an electronic keyboard (I just love playing piano). Nothing suffered. BUT I did keep on top of damp - that is a very bad enemy on board. Out of interest, I wouldn't bother with a marinised laptop - unless you intend dropping it physically into the water for a period of time.
I hope you succeed in throwing the ties, I did it for three years and it was, on reflection, the best time of my life (although I do still cringe at some interesting weather moments).
