  1. I don't know what weight you were at but 115 kts seems quite slow to be doing any kind of sustained turn. A final approach speed is intended for small corrections during the approach. Remember that stalling speed increases progressively as bank angle increases, and so does drag, especially when the aircraft is 'dirty'. Any very low speed turn requires a significant thrust increase to maintain height. The auto throttles  always have a slight lag to avoid cycling, and often don't react fast enough. I cannot say how real Ejets perform at low speed, but jet experience years ago taught me to be very cautious about very low speed, high power turns at low altitudes. They easily lead to a fatal accident.

Edit: Triholer just beat me to it, and I think he confirms my view.

Everything is posted on the product page. We only support the files that we posted on the product page.

What kind of answer is that. It totally ignores the point.

Last year you were selling ejetsv2-p3dv4-3.exe on your own website. I and others purchased it, yet you now act as though this version never existed.

When exactly was the version you claim to be the only recognised one being sold on your website as ejetsv2-p3dv4-1.exe

  3. At least 2 of us have pointed out previously that we bought directly from FeelThere and the version number of the product you were selling on your own website was ejetsv2-p3dv4-3.exe

The answer from scoob that we did not have the latest file does not make sense.

If you purchased from us then likely it will work. However it is very likely you didn't have the latest file from us either because the files we distribute with the previous versions are the ones we listed.

Why would your own website be providing an out of date file? And if it's not the latest, why would it have a higher product number than the one you say is the only version to qualify.

Since you refuse to offer a refund if the key does not work, you should at least provide a proper explanation as to how this cock up has occurred.

1050 thats you problem with any modern sim. what cpu?

I would agree entirely with the above response. I am not the least bit surprised that your GTX1050 graphics card is running at 100%. It only has 2Gb of video memory, which is less than is needed to run P3D with any modern airliner simulation. The latest graphics techniques produce wonderful results, but require a good level of processing power from the CPU and the GPU, as well as a lot of video memory.

What other addon aircraft are you comparing the E-jets to, when you say other addons are not a problem. I suspect they are not equivalent models.

You did not tell us what cpu (processor) you have in your pc, but I think, unfortunately, that while your pc may allow some undemanding addons to run, in certain situations, it sounds like it is simply not sufficient to run P3D with a modern sophisticated simulation. Many users struggle, even with high end computers and graphics cards like the GTX 1080 or better.

There is probably very little that you can do, apart from turning down the graphics settings within P3D, to ease the load on the graphics card.

We tested the upgrade version ONLY with the version we sell on our website. We cannot guarantee if a 3rd party  reseller updated it to the latest version we have so we cannot guarantee the upgrade will work. It is **POSSIBLE** will work we just can't guarantee it. It's always a good idea to buy software directly from the developer.

    Thank you

    Vic

FeelThere seems to be doing its best to confuse would be purchasers.  When were you selling the ejetsv2-p3dv4-1.exe that you refer to as qualifying for the discount.

I bought my version of Ejets for P3D4 direct from FeelThere in December 2018.    It was the E175/E195 set.  It is clearly labelled as   ejetsv2-p3dv4-3.exe   which for some strange reason you are saying does not qualify for the discount.   This is the version you were selling on your own website.

It is not light. I used "shadow" for lack of a better word, but it seems like a stain. Have a look at the screw holes in the upper part of the FMS, and you will notice that it is not a shadow.

Regarding the FMS keys, I cannot see why you think there is a problem. To me they look perfectly normal. The alpha numeric keys are indented, that is, they have a depression in the centre of each key. To represent that on a flat screen requires use of lighter and darker shades, as in any artistic work. Real FMS keys develop a shine in use, and the example shown gives a good representation of the real thing.

  7. I've just realised we can now publish images on this forum, so I thought the developers might like to see what the E-jets v2 software has made possible. The real E-Jet always seemed an obvious candidate for a home cockpit. So about six years ago I purchased the FeelThere version and began experimenting.  I was impressed. The systems modelling, and the functioning buttons and switches, allowed a good degree of realism, and everything could be mapped through FSUIPC.  And the final prize was having all the 2D panels, which made it possible to amalgamate the instrument pop ups onto new backgrounds, to create new panels to display on the mip monitors.

In  building an E195 cockpit, the space available restricted it to left seat only. So I made a few small changes to the layout of the main panel to improve single person operation. But overall It was important to maintain the feel of a real cockpit.

I use P3D v3.4 with Win 7 which allows full functionality, and the cockpit has been in regular use for more than four years, with small updates. It even shows authentic signs of wear on the trim switch. The MCDU is a high resolution touch screen, and the touch pad for controlling instrument displays also works as a mouse on the other screens.

Every function available in the FeelThere software is replicated and working, including the overhead panel.

Since everything was home built, the cost was remarkably low. but I've been surprised at the degree of realism it achieves when using it. And it certainly makes the most of all the scenery and other add ons installed. I've seen friends sweating in it, as much as I did, on real world simulator sessions. So well done FeelThere for making it possible.

well mine is not working in p3d. Eventually causes a CTD and thats not with loading and saving a flight. Been in the hangar for a while now. Shame cause they are fun to fly.

I should have said that I am currently using P3D version 3.2.3 so I wonder what version you are using. You will probably have seen from the P3D forums that there are reported cases of CTDs, with a variety of add on aircraft, add on scenery and different computer systems. The fact that one occurs while operating the E-Jet does not necessarilly mean that is the cause. Does the E-Jet function correctly before the CTD, and what is the fault module indicated when a CTD happens. Also, if I am allowed to mention it here, it may be worth having a look at the very useful CTD guide on the avsim P3D forums.

I see from way back that you reported some strange autopilot issues while using the E-Jets in FSX. I don't know if you are still using the original E-Jets download for current installations, but it could have been corrupt. Maybe worth a fresh download. This may also be stating the obvious, but did you install the E-Jets as administrator, and do you run P3D as administrator. I also use the old habit of loading the default flight first, and then changing to the E-195, or loading a saved E-195 scenerio.

  9. Agree it would be nice to have an updated release, but E-Jets v2 already works in P3D v3. It's not officially supported in P3D, but just be sure to install it as administrator, and for simplicity use the Migration Tool for the installation. The only hiccup I have found is that when saving a flight it adds a very large number of extra lines at the end of the save file, the one saved in My Documents, Prepar3D files.

If not amended, this causes P3D to crash when loading a saved flight.  Simple solution, after saving a flight, just open the save file, in Notepad, delete the extra unwanted lines and resave the amended file. These extra lines relate to some testing process for the ERJ and are nothing to do with the E-Jets. I don't know why they appear. The corrected file should end with the line <simbase document>. Then you should be able to enjoy the E-Jets in P3D.

  10. If you mean the indicators on the flight guidance panel, there is not really anything to fix. It's explained in the operating manual. On real E-Jets it appears the FGP indicator lights are optional rather than standard and were often not specified by airlines. Although the same FGP fascia panel appears to have been used in either case, only some of them have working lights. In all cases, the FGP autopilot selections are indicated on the PFD.

Seems like you've tried some of the obvious stuff.

Re point 5) You don't say what operating system you're using, but there were a number of reports from early adopters of Win10 who had problems with their existing control hardware not working correctly. I don't use Win 10, but I think some of the problems were resolved with a Microsoft update. It may not be the cause of your own problem, but sometimes particular combinations of hardware, software and operating systems from different generations throw up some peculiar issues.

Re point 8, This probably seems unrelated to the problem of low fps when using the controls, but when developers first started producing more complex add ons, many support forums had a mass of posts covering all kind of obscure problems which were resolved by loading a default aircraft first.

When you say you tried this and and it failed, do you mean you could not load in this way, or that this procedure did not solve the low fps on control movement?

I heard this process may no longer be necessary with later versions of P3D, but I've found with my own setup that the E-Jets and probably ERJ, are sensitive to the loading process. With P3D 3.2, I need to load the default F22 scenario first, and then load a saved E-Jets start up scenario, then everything works correctly.

Re point 9) Joysticks and rudder pedals are sometimes supplied with a CD containing driver and configuration software. Some of these cover several different types of hardware and operating systems. If you install more than one piece of hardware, each with its own CD, you can end up with different overlapping versions of driver software which can conflict. Some driver CDs also need the appropriate operating system to be selected.

Finally, if you have an SSD or hard drive that you can wipe clean, use that as the only drive for test purposes. Unplug all other drives, Then do a new install of Windows and the bare Flightsim software on the testing drive. You don't need to activate Windows for this. Plug in joystick etc. Test using Start menu/Games/Tools/Input devices. Do a calibration for each input device. Then install E-Jets or ERJ. Do not load any other software. Test joystick again. Try all available USB sockets for joystick, USB 2 and 3. Then load flightsim with default flight. Test joystick again. Change to ERJ and test again. Note any differences.

  12. It's frustrating when something doesn't work as expected, but if you have a problem and expect help, then it's essential to provide full information about your own particular setup, both hardware and software.

Many simmers have been running the E-Jets and ERJ software with a whole variety of controllers for a number of years, so when some users have the kind of problems described, it usually comes down to something different in their particular installations. I have used E-Jets v2 for more than 5 years with 3 different computers, and different controllers, all running Win7 64bit. The software has worked correctly with FSX SP2, and with Prepar3D versions 1.4, 2.2, and currently 3.2. There is certainly no problem using SSDs. I have used E-Jets on Intel, Samsung, OCZ and Sandisk SSds.

Some things to consider. They won't all be relevant in each case, but may help.

    1) If the problem occurred recently, what software changes have been made, including Windows updates. Try restoring to an earlier date.

    2) Do you have a corrupted download. These are often related to using anti virus software while downloading.

    3) Always install as administrator, and also run the sim as administrator.

    4) Wherever practical disable User Account Controls.

    5) Windows 10 has thrown up a few driver related hardware issues. Some have been resolved. Use Google.

    6) If controls are assigned through the simulator, check the 'Controls' section under the Axes tab. Are they all there, and not duplicated. If they look correct then use the calibration tab and calibrate each axis. If controls are assigned through FSUIPC, then check they do not also appear in the simulator controls section. Delete as necessary.

    7) Do you have other add ons installed which may use special programming techniques to overcome weaknesses in the FSX/P3D software. These may conflict with older software like the E-Jets. Try uninstalling other add on aircraft to test.

8)Follow the advice from Feelthere and load first with a default aircraft at a default airfield, then load a presaved E-Jet or ERJ situation, or create a new one.

    9) Hardware driver or control software can cause a conflict, especially if more than one version is installed. Depending how your controls are assigned, problems can affect one aircraft and not others. When using Win7 or later, many of the joysticks, throttles and rudder pedals will operate without any additional software, and can be calibrated under Windows. Then you could delete previous drivers.

I have no experience of CH products so cannot comment on those, but I had no problems with the E-Jets using a Saitek X36 Hotas, Saitek yoke, Saitek throttles or Saitek rudder pedals. None of them affected fps at any time. I currently run a replica E195 home cockpit with multiple screens and custom hardware using E-Jets v2 with a heavily modified panel cfg, and everything programmed and controls calibrated through FSUIPC. Everything works.

Regarding FSUIPC, this is one of the most useful and reliable utilities available to simmers. It is totally compatible with E-Jets and with all versions of FS2004, FSX and P3D, but if you use the full version, keep it up to date, and most important - read the manual very carefully.

Computer problem solving requires a systematic approach, which can be time consuming, but it's often the only way to get reliable results.

  13. I don't run in compatibility mode. It seems quite happy in Win7 without it. Regarding frame rates, I have not found the E-jets to be any problem. The bigger issue has always been to get the scenery settings to an acceptable compromise between performance and appearance.

    jbee

  14. I've been using the E-Jets v2 for three or four years in 2 PCs, both 64 bit Win7, one using FSX and the other P3D v2, although this is not officially supported. It has run as well as, or better than, any other equivalent add on aircraft. Obviously the actual performance will depend on each individual PC.

A possible answer to your problems may be this.

There has been discussion on other forums about Microsoft putting out so called Important Updates for Win7 and Win8, which are actually marketing and spyware. They are connected with selling the update to Windows 10, and they load processes onto the PC which then run unannounced, feeding information to Microsoft, and using significant resources. People have complained about computers slowing down while in use. This would be most apparent when using demanding software like FSX with add on aircraft. It seems to have particularly affected people who have allowed automatic updates to Windows, rather than being selective.

If you do some searching on other forums you'll find lists of the download numbers causing problems. Then check the Download History on your PC and remove the problem updates. Note: these are not Security Updates. Removing them does not cause any other issues with Windows, however Microsoft are being very sneaky and keep re issuing some of them, still labelled as Important Updates.

I only load Important Security updates and check the purpose of anything else before downloading and I have not experienced any slowdown.

  15. Hi Glenn,

Thanks for that, but I have very good image processing software installed, so resizing is not a problem.

I was just enquiring if there was a way to include larger images in a post, uploaded directly to this website.

As this is not possible, the only option is using links to an image hosting site, like those you suggest.

    jbee

  16. Thanks for the explanations.

I always wondered why there were so few pictures on the various Simflight forums. I hadn't appreciated the scale of the spambot problem.

Isn't it a pity that people have to get their kicks by being destructive towards useful websites.

I'll certainly have a look at the Facebook page. I had no idea there was one.

    jbee.

  17. Scoob,

I was about to reply to a post about E-Jets v2 and include a couple of screenshots, but this doesn't seem possible.

I see in the forum rules you suggest we include screenshots where appropriate, but the add attachment button includes a warning that the total file size is limited to 20 KB.

Even a single low resolution picture reduced to around 50mm square comes in around 40KB.  Is there a way around this, other than uploading  to some image hosting site,

    and linking to it.

    jbee.
