  1. Pete, I read again (or at least tried to understand) your WideFS docs about keys, buttons, hotkeys, shutdowns. etc. The problem is that you as a programmer cant really explain things in a simple way. Your a genius trying to talk to us mortals. Also its the nature of coding and PCs, that no one can explain it on paper in a layman's language. Thus I, on the other hand as a non-programmer, cant understand 90% of it, unless simple wording and step by step examples are used. I saw this with EPIC (of which I trashed and will never have again, thank god). I must say that GF does have easy to understand and use products, when they work. I am sure a lot of other guys like me, have given up all together and are not using the software to their fullest or have even stopped simming. I have spent to much time and money to just give up, but like in the past, I have paid PM and sim experts to come to Los Angeles to help me setup things and to understand what's going on. Please of course continue the good work, and hopefully I will be able to find more consultants to come here and work on the funny little bytes of code that come forth from sim land. Randy
  2. Hi, No, I dont have Wideclient on the main PC. I have on clients and put the GF dll in the WideFS folder on them. The red display I mentioned is GFs 45 unit display. Here is my problem. I use to be able to have thru GFRemote software the DH and Baro set, off of the MCP client using their simple 45 units. Now all of a sudden the 45s dont work. Doyle is at a lost to fig out why. Let me ask you, how can I have DH and Baro set work now? Assuming that I cannot use rotories with your buttons window and GFremote wont work, what do I need to do. Thanks
  3. Pete, I wil try to put in a readable order. I have a GF-45 display and was having problems getting to work off of my MCP client using GFRemote, so I moved the 45 to the main FS PC. I made sure that the GF conf. setting was off for this unit and also put the GF.dll file that you talk about in WideFS docs into the wideclient folder. I then went into your button section and when I turn the 45-knob (I was trying to see if I could get a rotory to work) and it would show its numbers and I hit the "use in FS and PM" check boxes and then I went and assigned the "pitot heat toggle" to it. It worked but I have to turn the knob a few times to get it to send inputs. Whats strange is that, I know that for what I wanted the 45 to do (DH or Baro settings) using this knob for button function might be wrong, however, I cleared all the settings for this 45 for the pitot heat toggle, to where if I turn the 45 knob now, I do not get any indictation in your button window, that its set to what I had it to (pitot) which I would assume is good, if I wanted to delete that function. But then when I go back into the game, (rebooting it) and turn the 45 knob, it still is turning on and off the pitot heat, even though it does not show set to this function in your buttons window!!! Why is the 45 unit still assuming its to turn pitot heat on and off? How do I delete your button assign to this 45 unit? Also, maybe you dont know the answer, when the 45 unit was turning pitot heat on or off, the display did not light up in red. Thanks Randy ps, can one make it so if I turn off (shut down) my main FS PC, that the clients can go off also, instead of having to shut down each one, after another by hand. I read about hotkeys in the docs in WideFS, but was not sure if this is what it meant.
  4. Pete, Well the lastest builds of GC worked, and now the spoilers when armed, deploy upon landing. One thing though, when on the ground, I noticed that I can not set the spoilers to arm. Is that how it is on the real 737? Randy ps, see my new post on another problem.

  6. Yes, I see in red diff. brakes flashing then brakes itself. I will try to make a bigger null zone. Should I do that with your joystick or us FS sensit. sliders? I do have real rudders and toe brakes. Randy ps, I will download new builds for spoiler thing.
  7. Hi Pete, I watched the FS spoiler handle better this time and upon landing while armed, again it did not move, but then after a few seconds of rollout, it then went to full. On PM the armed in green was still saying armed. If I moved my real spoiler handle, then the PM went to full up in red.
  8. Hi, I notice that upon landing (not autoland) that my brakes with start to flicker on, then stay on, during regular landings. On PM the "Autobrakes OFF" is in red. Someone said somewhere there is a ini line to adjust? Is this so and where is it. I tried looking for it. Thanks Randy
  9. Hi, I notice that if I put under the 2 axis/joysticks sections, the wording Locked=1, that it might help the axis settings from changing. I say this as I brought up a flight and then noitced that some of the axis/joystick settings had changed a bit, ie. brakes, flaps, spoiler, even roll or pitch, etc. Whats more strange is that if I change it to Locked=0, in order to change something, that when I come back to the config, that line of code has gone (the Locked=0). Then the other day, I deleted both Locked lines all together, and when I went back into config, the Locked=1 had now reappeared!!!, but only on the section where most of my axis/joysticks are and not on the 2nd joystick section. These axis/joystick sections seem to have a mind of their own. I know you had mentioned sme bugs relating to these settings. I know, Pete, that you thought that this Locked line of code was maybe not needed. I know your docs talk about it. What do you think about using it. Thanks Randy
  10. Hi, I will try to observe them while flying. See how smooth they go. I will send you my ini file from the sim PC. I do have the FS spoiler window open during these tests. When I land, the FS handle just sits there, sorta in the armed spot. PM is green armed. I will also try using the mouse instead and set the FS spoiler that way to arm. (Not use anything other than the game).
  11. I use XP for the main FS PC, but have clients on ME. Does that matter? Can I still assign client names? Thanks
  12. Well, I did what you said and flipped off your joystick part for the spoilers. I then got the plane up and a spot view of the spoilers. The plane hits the runway and nothing happens with the spoilers. If I then pull my real spoiler handle back, I notice that the FS lever jumps around and then goes to full up. While doing this, I noticed that the PM spoiler indicator (when FS and my real handle) are half way back, the green arm comes on in PM, then goes to showing red degrees of up. So there seems to be differient things going on here, ie, spoilers not moving smoothly, when I pull my real handle, spoilers not raising even though PM and FS game show arm position set, not mattering if I use your joystick or just FS. I did check your FSUIPC ini and saw some spoiler lines, but not sure what to look for. Any ideas on what I should try next. Randy
  13. The IP server address somehow changed the very last number. I checked the server address and when I fixed the client WideFS ones, it all worked. Will pulling the internet cable cause this IP addresss change in the clients? Please see my post on the spoiler problem. I have news.
  14. The only thing I did before turning on the sim, was that I disconnected the cat 5 internet cable from the networking box. I did that because I did not want the sim on line, if I did not need to be on line while flying. Anyway, could that of made it so the clients got a new IP address somehow when booting? Again this is the only thing diff. I did before the WideFS problem.
  15. Hi Pete, I went to fly and now my 2 clients dont work. I did nothing. The PFD is frozen on some other flight I might of been doing. WideFS says waiting for connection. Its nuts. Below is the log. Not showing on this log, it had said something like No route host or something like that. What can you tell from this log. Where do I check elsewhere to see whats up. 16. Hi, I have seen this shaking and it might be something with your brakes.
  17. Here is the story. I went into your joysticks and reset spoilers. My closed or down shows like -15,400 lets say, then i move it a tad back, and hit first idle (arm) set, then move it a tad or 2 tads more, then hit 2nd idle set, then move all the way to up and hit max set. Now i fly, arm on my handle and land. The PM is still in green arm when I hit the runway and stays there. I look at outside view and spoilers not up. I now move my handle back(up), and outside view shows them raising. I then check the cockpit FS window view of throttle quad view and here is what I see. Spoiler handle in window is up as is my handle. Now I move my handle to arm, PM shows green arm, but the spoiler handle in FS window moves all the way to full up. Now I move my handle slowly to towards full up, and the handle in the FS MOVES NOW TO ARM !! then as I move my handle more, the FS handle then comes flying back to up. Any idea on whats happening. Am I setting it right from what I said I do? Randy
  18. Hi, I had set the arm zone fine, so as when the spoiler handle is all the way forward, there is no function, and if I move it a little back the "arm" comes on, and then if I start to move it all the way back, it starts to show in red the degrees of spoiler up, however, now I notice that when I hit the runway the spoilers (with arm set) dont go to full up. Just stays in arm mode. Any thoughts. Once the green arm in PM comes on, is that it, its armed and ready? Is there a setting somewhere else that I need t adjust? Thanks Randy
  19. Hi, Well, I did what you said to do, and still no luck. It did take the programming fine, with the press and release. I used Thrott 1 Dec and Thrott 1 cut. There are a few other things I have to check, so I will keep you posted. Randy
  20. Hi, Well I am glad at least someone in the sim world thinks that I might be as smart as the other sim "masters." By the way, you were right on that flap extending time in aircraft conf. I was able to make them move slower. I will again try what you wrote me about the Rev. and report back, assuming I have not hung myself in fustration. Randy
  21. If I had you come and run my medical transcription business without any guidance or teachings, even though I wrote everything down in a DOC for you,, you still would have a very hard time doing so. Trust me. Same with this sim/computer/programming. I only started really learning PCs a few years ago. I had thought that a "Glass Cockpit" was some kinda of clear, see thru cockpit to sit in! What I need to know is just what to and how to assign my Rev levers so the microswitchs on each (remember no pots) starts Rev on "press" and then shuts them off on "release." I think thats what you had mention to try. Randy
  22. Hi, How do you keep track of who replys and such. You must really watch this site's posts with an eagles eye. Anyway, I looked at the button section and saw the part where it says assign this button to do this when pressed and do this when released, etc. I will tell you I had no idea where to even begin on making the Rev mircoswitch do one thing and then another. I tried to assign the button first off on the right, to PM and FS and give it a function name, but then when I went to the left and clicked them, it would erase what I had done on the rightside of the window. Pretend I am dumb (I am) and could you give me a little step by step to start with. I have read the doc on this part, well see I still have to write you. Its just beyond me without a little guidance. Thanks RANDY
  23. Hi, I see what your saying, in that, make the throttles I have now be in an idle position just short of their current idle position, and then make it so I might hit some lever or button that allows me to then just pull them back to Rev on. I think the Airbus operate that way. Of course I will try the buttons in your program and see if I can fix it. At least I have the real Rev. function raising the Rev levers, and if I have to still push the throttles a tad forward, so be it. No big thing. All in one movment. Thanks
  24. Hey, if you want to come on down to Los Angeles, then I will help you climb under the sim and we can see how we could install pots for the Rev levers thu all the grease, dirt, wires and metal. Till then I cant even think of doing anything else. 6 years of working on these sims has wore me out. :o( ONce you here, we can meet up with Matt Ford and get sushi. On your docs, I read them but there still a hair technical for this old man. Let me see if I can do a few of what you suggested and get back to you. Thanks
  25. Hi, Yes you have it right on now. When raising the Rev levers, below they hit a micro switch that clicks. Does it stay in on or on/off, I dont know. That must be it that the throttles dont know to go back to idle? I will try to see if I can fig just what to do to assign them like you say. Will your program allow to program a switch to do one thing on opening lets say, and then do anything upon closing? Whats strange is that just over a year ago with the same setups, the Rev were working fine. Maybe new builds and things altered them. I am just using Goflight's I/O quad axis board. Thats all. So I get to see their setup windows and stuff. I dont think Goflight is the company it once was. There is no help from them and their software man, Doyle is nowhere to be found. They dont update their software much either. Seems now a days I cant program any of their functions without something strange happening with their units (boards). I mount their boards with just guts only behind real lightplates and mods. Randy
