  1. I have purchased FSUIPC5. I have been "struggling" with the user guide. But I simply do not understand the kind of language in which it is written.
It would be nice with some kind of "absolute beginners guide to FSUIPC5 and hardware". What I need is a "down to earth" practical guide A-Z.

According to everybody in the sim community FSUIPC is a "must" so I hope you can help me so my 3 CH controls will work properly. Thank you.

  3. I am using P3Dv4 and just purchased Twin Otter Extended. I would like my CH Throttle Quadrant to Work as corectly as possible with this new aircraft.
In 2011 I purchased FSUIPC 4 and I wonder if this version 4 will let me make a setup for my CH Throttle Quadrant or do I need the newest version FSUIPC5?
Also I would appreciate som kind of guide - how to setup FSUIPC and P3Dv4 for a control like my throttle.

PS: Upgrade Price for FSUIPC5 (from FSUIPC4)?

    Best Regards

  4. I found 2 sources to information about the VOR/DME.

    (1) If you hold the arrow over the VOR icon in the FSX in-game map you get the information whether the VOR is Terminal, Low altitude or high altitude.

    (2) On the website www.ourairports.com all the information can be found. Choose the Pilot info tab and scroll Down.

By the way: In FSX 2 VOR's in Greece (KPC - Karpathos & SKS - Skiros) does not give any signal. Any explanation? Generel problem or my system?

    Kind Regards

    Lars

  5. Hi,

Sorry to ask this question here (just for your information I have registered versions of FSUIPC and FSWide that hopefully legitimate me asking here!):

I would like to be able to put textlabels (like the ones that is shown in the screenshot below) in my scenery located at defined coordinates - typically a town or village name.

I was naive (and probably still am...) thinking that this could be done with a XML file containing the names and coordinates and compiled to a BGL.

Allthough I know nothing about it I now think that I have to get connected to simconnect via C++. But I could use a hint concerning in which part of the simconnect interface these things are going on.

Somehow my dll-file shall be able to read the data from my townlist and somehow I'm going to "tell" simconnect to show the name-labels in the correct position of the scenery.

So far - the only thing I have achieved is to make a program in Delphi and Javascript with the ability to create an address-longitude-lattitude list from an address list via Google Map API 3 geocoding.

I hope Mr Dowson or someone else can give me a hint about where to look in the simconnect. I have - off course - the Simconnect SDK dokumentation, but I have not been able to find it yet.

  6. Thank you Pete - you solved my problem.

I calibrated the left and right brakes in this way...

    1. Ticked the reverse box.

    2. Pressed the pedals fully forward and pressed MAX

    3. Released the pressure on the pedal and made it go about halfway back and pressed MIN.

By doing this I also - somehow :?: - fixed the problem with my period on the keyboad that did not function before!!

Thank you Pete - you have been a great help for me - now I think I am ready to taxi again! :D

NB: Pete - can you tell me why I'm not receiving instant e-mail notification for this topic allthough I "ordered" it?

  7. Thank you Pete and Den!

I will have to fix my two profiles in FSUIPC and involve my CH Pro Pedals in these too following the advice above.

Doing so I guess I have to delete my CH Pro Pedals assignments in FSX's Control setting?

If this not fix the problem I will try the electrical cleaner spray. To which element do I point the spray? (sorry - never done that before).

If I press period (.) the brakes are not released as I would expect. On the other hand if I activate the

parking brakes by pressing Ctrl + . then afterwards pressing the period (.) will release the brakes. Should it be so?

I wonder if you have a solution to this strange problem.

(And please dont tell my I have to assign the period (.) through FSUIPC - I have on purpose not wanted to involve my yoke and keyboard in my "Assignment-Solution" because it involves a lot of work with all those buttons.....).

    /Lars

  8. My CH Pro Pedals does not work well. I have tried to assign/calibrate in FSX and FSUIPC without luck. The brakes are activated without pressing on the period (.) and the differential brakes are too sensitive.

If I press both pedals I activate the brakes (is it supposed to be like that?). If I press period (.) the brakes are not released as I would expect. On the other hand if I activate the

parking brakes by pressing Ctrl + . then afterwards pressing the period (.) will release the brakes. Should it be so?

My right pedal has problems with releasing the differential brake when I release the pressure on the pedal. In fact I have to press my heel in order to release the right differential brake. This is also evident in the calibration window where the little cross only comes half way back when I release the right pedal. I wonder if a pair of CH Pro Pedals can be worn and not function correct any longer?

  9. Even though I have assigned and calibrated my Throttle Quadrant in FSUIPC I experience a problem when loading my Turbine Duke in FSX: The Condition Lever (Mixture Lever) is in the aft position on the Virtual Cocpit allthought its in the forward position on my CH Throttle Quadrant. Result: When the aircraft comes to life after loading, the engines stops (the condition lever has cut off the fuel supply).

    Any solution?

  10. I find FSCommander basicly a good program, but I find the map graphic very coarse/rough. The lines for the Vicor/Jet airways, the typography and the outline of the lands - evrything in the map is IMHO looking too coarse and rough. Some years ago I used FSNavigator and I can only say that the map-look in this old program was fantastic. I know this "ey-candy" and smootness I want does not concern the basic function of FSC but for me (and a lot of other flightsimmers I have communicated with on many forum's) it is part of the experience and joy you have when you use a program like this. :D

  11. I agree very much with you bobo. I also find FSCommander basicly a good program, but I find the map graphic very coarse/rough. Talking about FSNavigator before I can only say that the map-look in this old program was fantastic. 12. Hi,

Besides making flightplans (flightlogs) in your program I use it as an electronic map to measure out distances and directions I need for my VFR flights. For that reason I would like a more realist and accurate map. I know it's probable a thing you are not able to do easy, but have you considered to change the default map? It would make FSC a more realistic program to work with.

    Best Regards

    Lars
