  1. Hi, I have a little question, which I don't know in which thread to ask. Seeing that this is a recent thread Iøll give it a go here.

Im working on a little project on my own, but have hit some problems. What software does the Brothers use when they create their excelent projects?

My current dilemma is that I have gotten my hands on Alan Devins source files for his FSX version of the Bell 222.

These files was uploaded to the public cause he wasn't able to find time to complete him self.

Problem is that I cant convert it to something which is compatible with the FSX SDK.

Im using 3ds max 2010 32-bit and I want to get it into Gmax for compiling into FSX. I've tried BFF but that was written for 3ds max 9 so it wont script properly. And no uck exporting by converting to .3ds file either. Any Ideas?

Or is it possible for you to take up the project? Looks pretty much complete with animations and everything. Only minor texture tweeking is required and of course compiling into FSX. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I have gathered a team to finish this helicopter for FS9 and FSX, work has begun on the FS9 version with the X version at a later date.

  2. I've sent Peter some of what I have including flight manuals and images for various helicopters....S61 is not included in what I've sent him.

The manuals I sent Peter include:

    Bell 222A/222B/22UT/230/430 series

MD500D (this one has been done already for FSX)

    AH1W Super Cobra

I also have the following manuals for any interested parties wishing to create another helicopter, these include:

    Kaman SeaSprite SH2G

    Kaman KMax

    Hughes OH6A Cayuse

    Agusta Westland AW109E Power

    Agusta Westland AW109S Grand

    Agusta Westland AW139

    Fairchild Hiller FH1100

    Bell 206L4T TwinRanger

    Bell 407

    Eurocopter EC145/BK117C2

    Sikorsky S76B/S76C++

    Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin 2/HH65A Dolphin

    Eurocopter AS350BA/B3/D Ecureuil

    Eurocopter AS355F/N/NP Ecureuil 2

    Robinson R22

    Robinson R44

    PZL Sokol W3A

    Eurocopter EC130B4 Ecureuil

If interested in any of these manuals, let me know. I may have some material on some of these helicopters as photo materials are hard to come by or impossible to find at all.

  3. 2 solutions.

First solution is to check to see if fresnel ramps are in the texture folders. If not, you can copy them from any of of the default aircraft texture folders into the MD900 texture folders.

Second solution is to install FSX Acceleration or SP2 as all Nemeth Designs FSX helicopters have unique coding/animations that only works in SP2 or Acceleration.

  4. What version of FSX are you running?

    FSX

    FSX Deluxe

    FSX SP1

    FSX SP2

    FSX SP2 Acceleration

    FSX Gold

All Nemeth FSX choppers require SP2 and/or Acceleration for certain features to work. They'll work with early releases, but you won't be able to see highly customised animations like the animated crew legs that hang out the door on the MD500 or the gunners with extending machine guns on the BO105. Also, make sure that all the texture folders have a fresnel ramp texture inside. If not, copy from one of the default aircraft folders (Bell 206 for example) and copy them into the MD902 texture folders. This has solved my problems most of the time.

  5. it would have to be a sikorsky s61 for me ,or maybe a westland sea king .an nh90 could be good too.im still looking forward to the skycrane ,also ,i agree with brandon that an aw139 is also a good idea,BUT FOR ME ITS GOTTA BE A SIKORSKY S-61N !!!.

    :)

S61N was actually planned, but the ND bros does not have enough photo material to make one. Don't know if they still have it on the list though.

  6. Well, it is really easy. Provide a original flight manual, technical descriptions and some hundred detail pictures (inside / outside), and the development is possible. Without thisno way.

    Explorer

You are correct mate. Its easy to make a helicopter for FSX, but with less detail that may not look like the real machine. Thats why it is standard policy for the Nemeths and many other developers to use flight manuals and image data to create the most realistic handling and detailed models available for FS9/FSX. I have a small collection of manuals that I may give the Nemeths for future products, but no reference images...yet.

  7. The 429 is a new design that there aren't any in commercial operations yet, so obtaining a pilots operation manual is going to be a tough one. Although you can get one from Bell at a cost of $400US :o Same with the NH90. Since it is a newer technology military aircraft, obtaining a flight manual will be very impossible. And as for the 222, well myself and Peter are talking about it, he has the manuals and some shots...same goes for the 230 and 430. The 430 is planned, Peter needs additional shots of the main rotor. So you see guys, Peter can build a B429 or a NH90, but flight manuals are a must to obtain realistic flight physics, cockpit instruments, etc.
