The D/L link on that page just takes me to Avsim...but no D/L
Did a search on avsim and nothing..

Phil,
You are right in that they have made some nice aircraft. It's just that in this case, they seem to be re-using the same model for the Pipers and I bet you probably have a nice plane there anyway, there is just no need to get the others now..LOL
P.S. Check your email.

You know Travis, I never thought of it that way. You bring up a good point too…

I have to tell you guys, I have been watching this thread and have been wanting to comment on this 180 and Carenado. Since it has been mentioned now that the 180 is so much like the Archer, I will now jump in headfirst.
A while back I purchased the Archer & Dakota from Carenado. I was a little upset to find that the 2 FS Models were about 98% identical. I questioned Carenado about this fact and they said I was very wrong. They stated that the 2 planes were totally different in that they had different size engines and were of a different horsepower range. I told them, they couldn’t be serious in saying that. If I wanted that feature in a plane, I could do that myself.
After several exchanges of emails on this issue, they through the guilt card out there and offered me free access to any of they’re planes to D/L. Hmmm
I bring all this up because the 180 falls into this issue. I don’t have the 180 to look at like the others, but after examining the 180 screen shots, I see about a 90+% similarity to the other pipers they sell. In that I mean, I believe they are using the same Gmax FS Model on all 3 aircraft and passing them off as different planes.
All of this is just for info to the members here and the FS consumer. I am in no way putting down the quality of Carenado, I am just saying the same thing I told them, If you are going to make a NEW plane, really make a new plane…don’t try and pass the same basic thing off as 3 different ones with a part or 2 missing or added here and there. The worst part is that it cost 4$ more than the others.
I expect more than that from a Payware company.

Thanks Claude for the info..
Eric,
This is just what I have been looking for, as I am sure many of us were. You did an excellent job on this. I only pulled my hair out for a sec until I just took a chance on how to install it…LOL
It works great…Thanks

Great to hear you will be joining us. Hope to fly with you soon.

Great shot...thanks for the link.
and Travis...I heard about Rainier and it better not go the same way. I would hate to loose that Mt. I go there all the time, I love that place. I used to ride the bike up there every weekend and still go there a lot in the summer.

Well, Travis..
I was trying not to be to prejudice about this great place you and I live…lol
I too, fly here all the time would never live anywhere else. I love going to the Tacoma Narrows, in real life, all the time. It is a nice little Airport and a great ride on the Bike to get there. Maybe we could meet there for lunch sometime.

man, that thing is touchy...lol

There have bee post in the past that have mentioned something about finding new and interesting locations to fly. FS is a big place and we may never see it all so I was just wondering, what are some of the most interesting places you have found and what is your most favorite default airstrip or airport in FS..?
Airport ID’s…..

Anyone know what is going on at Avsim. I have been trying to D/L some of the recently mentioned items there and it keeps asking for a password in the D/L screen. This has only just started in the last few days.

Check your PM

Nice pics travis...gotta love that plane...

If anyone is interested, I have added VC lighting and lights under the Engine cowl to see the engine at night with the cowl off. I can email the new Aircraft.cfg file to you, if you want it, but I did not want to post it for D/L.

I would have to agree that it is better than some payware..and I have quite a few to compare it to.
-
Also from the virtual cockpit, open the door, then click on the red lever with the ring on it..the door comes off.
Then from the outside, operate whatever you have set for the wing fold function...to see the engine
The parking brake lever works from the inside and it even has moving brake pedals. This is a great plane and very much a keeper.
We now need an Emma paint for it....
-
This is a great plane. I have all the others that they make too.
-
Well that's 5am for me here and if I can make it I will be flying the Twin Bonanza (Gold & Blue) paint.
-
No problem...was just an idea.
I just completed the flight and it is very nice with some challenging approaches following the route on your map.
-
Viny,
I would like to make a suggestion for the Tour if I may.
The Emma Field Flight Server, and the Voice Server on Teamspeak both operate very nice and with two strong points. The Flight Server was running at about 35-50ms at the time I tested it. That is a lot faster than several others I have been on. Also, Emma Teamspeak is configurable to create your own channel for the Flight Tour. Emma TS can also be set up at GSM 16.4 kbit, which provides a very clear voice channel. Both the Flight and Voice Servers run on 66.235.194.24
I just thought I would put the idea out there and see what you think.
-
It must be a payware one...I don't have one like that... :(
-
Viny,
I would love to take part in this flight as I have all of the Geo's, live here in Washington and it is a great place to fly. Is there a prefered plane other than a single, that we all might have..or any suggestions for one.
P.S. What Aircraft is that in on your web site and where was the shot taken at?
Carenado's 180

It has never been said here that the 180 is a bad plane, in fact what I hear of it, as an individual plane, is good. I think this has got off the secondary subject a little.
I think that if this thread were to be read again, it would be seen why Carenado and the pipers were brought up. As a Payware consumer, why would you want to buy a plane that is about 95% the same as another one you have, from the same maker and cost more to boot. Also, why is this Payware maker passing off and selling basically the same FS/Gmax model as 3 different ones, and saying this one is new and they spent 4 months designing it?
I have the ability to add or remove FSDS parts from an OSD aircraft, (the same as Gmax) and resave the model, I can make new paints for aircraft and I can edit the handling and power characteristics of an aircraft to make it do anything I want. If I can do all this in about a week at my skill level, why would it take 4 months for a Payware maker to do it?
Anyone, name one other Payware maker that has 3 released aircraft that are basically the same?
Except the LZ, They specialize different variations and paints and they are only 6 bucks.
