  1. Hi,

a printed flight plan in FS Commander can consist maximally of three parts:

    1. general information, such as departure, destination, aircraft, fuel, etc.

    2. waypoint list which looks pretty much like what you see in the flight plan table

    3. control zone information if available

Any of the these three parts can be checked for printing before the actual printing is done.

Note that you can also save and print out a flight plan in XML format in which case you can determine yourself which information you would like to have. We provide a simple style sheet, More complex style sheets must be written by the user.

  2. Hi Kenneth,

I would be most happy to help you, if I - or a few other people I showed your post - understood what you are talking about.

After that it states 'Finished' and after I exit nothing happens
Of course, nothing happens. What do you expect to happen if something's finished.
I do not wish to pay for another registration key
you don't have to buy a new registration key because the key you got from SimMarket is still valid.

The only thing we can advise you to do is somewhat radical.

    a. Use our fscsetup.exe to de-install FS Commander

    b. Delete the complete folder in which FSC9 was installed

    c. Install FSC9 again

    d. run the Database Manager

    e. run FS Commander

    f. choose menu About --> Register

    g. enter the data as they appear on the SimMarket registration mail

  3. Hi AoA,

First of all, to clarify matters. The problem you have is NOT one of FS Commander, but rather one of WideFS, i.e. transmission of data. Even though this is the case, we have tried to help you in various ways with detailed descriptions.

Nevertheless we are willing to check you log files in order to know what is going wrong, not with FS Commander, but with WideFS.

Please make a connection between WideServer and WideClient so that in FSX' title bar displays "one client connected" and also the title bar of WideClient shows "connected". Now start your FS Commander and make the connection to FS (menu: GPS - connected to FS") Then close FS Commander and WideClient again.

Please send the following files to Volker:

WideServer.log to be found in your FS folder under folder/modules.

WideClient.log to be found on your client computer where you have installed WideClient

Volker's address can be found on your homepage (www.fscommander.com)

    Regards

  4. Hi Kenneth,

I'm somewhat confused about what you did, because version 9 - as well as all previous versions - are BOTH for FS9 and FSX. So there is no need to de-install and re-install the program when you switch from FS9 to FSX. The only thing you need to do is to choose FSX on the Display tab of the Options Window. Of course you have to run the Database Manager first to create the necessary databases for FSX.

You are NEVER PROMPTED to enter the registration key you received from SimMarket. What you need to do is to enter the registration key you received from SimMarket in the About --> Register.

  5. Hi,

multiplayer aircraft are processed by fsuipc. The limit is 96 aircraft. Furthermore, the range of visible aircraft needs to be set in fsuipc. Range 0 means unlimited range; however, fsuipc places an internal limit of roughly 40nm to reduce processing load. I suggest that you read the chapter "AI traffc and TCAS" in our documentation as well as the corresponding parts in the fsuipc documentation.

  6. Hi Steve,

your observation is correct. But this is the way it is supposed to be. Let me explain.

First, a SID NEVER starts a the end threshold of a runway, but it starts at its first waypoint. This first waypoint may be located in many cases at an extension of the runway heading, it may even be relatively close to the rwy threshold. But a SID is NOT rwy threshold + some number of waypoints. In fact, there are even places in the world, where a SID is rwy-neutral; i.e. you use the same SID for any rwy of the airport.

Second, FS Commander is neutral wrt the departure or arrival rwy. That is, the first waypoint is always an airport, more specifically the ARP of an airport. Why is that.

Again, your route NEVER starts at a rwy (as it was the case up until FS5 in 1994), but always at a gate or parking position. At the time of planning you do not yet know the arrival rwy nor do you often know the departure rwy or the taxiways leading to it. All these things are assigned byx ATC. In fact, even if you did know, it would not make any difference for the planning procedure.

Therefore a route in FS Commander always goes from the ARP of one airport to the ARP of some other airport. What you do on the ground is up to you (or ATC, if you fly online) and it can be changed at any time.

  7. hi volker

once again have followed all the instructions and read everything but still nothing???

it just won't except my number.....

cut and pasting every detail so i can't go wrong...

any other suggestions on how fsc9 will register?

    cheers mario

    Hi Mario,

I suggest that you CAREFULLY, VERY CAREFULLY read both Volker's post and the announcement. What you did has little to do with what you were supposed to do.

  8. Hi James,

the network setup for FS Commanders works for XP, Vista, and Win7. The description in the Appendix is meant to be merely an example.

Note that it has been observed various times that the combination of Vista and Win7 in a network may produce various problems for which MS so far has not offered any solution.

Note also that if you see your mapped drives on the client, this does NOT mean that external programs have access to these drives.

The bottom line is that obviously your network is not set up properly.

  9. Bonjour Yves,

  11. Hi CJordan,

    First,

moving the scenery out of the scenery folders, isn't an option as their scenery is the best I've seen out there, more and more people are going to be using their scenery.

I never suggested you should delete the scenery, but simply move it to a different folder. It does not make any difference to FX, but it does to FS Commander.

FSC uses a database created from the files it reads on our scenery config file, so where ever we put the scenery it should still find it and create a record in the data base. seems to me getting rid of the record is what needs to happen.

Correct, the database manager reads the file whereever you put it, except if it is placed in the main scenery folder. For the rest, I'm always delighted when people talk about things they apparently don't understand.

I have created a couple BGL Files using the SDK and I haven't ever seen this rule.

Guess why MS created a folder "Addon Scenery"

Well your program didn't have a problem before, but it does now, I can do without FSCommander,..

Well, if you can do without FS Commander, then the problem disappears altogether.

    Regards

    Sascha
