Allowing edited shots will turn away a number of folks... it did me. I like the idea of themes, but I think they need something that guides a competition, not restrict it. Just my 2c.

It'll come with a free copy of FTX US Blue? :D :?:
Always gotta be at least one in the crowd. :P :D

Geez Chris, every picture I see of you looks completely different from the last. Are you sure you aren't posting impromptu snaps of various unsuspecting pedestrians here?
-
Sounds great pups... you can count me in as well. Been a while since I've flown online, and what better than in and around Emma.
-
Happy birthday, hope it's a great one!

Well, very odd but I just set my max vertex level back to 20 and it looks fine. Not sure what to say about that, but I did put the two replacement textures in that you posted and I still have the blurry problem.
-
Some more input:
If I move the AFCAD file into the SIRP Depot\scenery folder the taxiways appear and part of the flatten seems to work, but I then have other terrain issues. Below shows what that looks like, and then a shot with my terrain max vertex level set to 19, which seems to solve the mesh problem. Also, removing the sirp depot.bgl file did not solve the blurries.
Taxiway textures now show.
Oops... vertex level at 20.
Seem to have a couple missing barrel textures.
Vertex level at 19.

Here are some shots of my issues. As you can see, the blurring problem is fairly extensive and I have to wait a minute or two before doing a scenery refresh otherwise they revert to blurry right away. The leveling issue seems to be mostly with the helipads, but there is an issue with the large building as well.

I have the same problem with the flatten at PAPG and I did indeed install the AFCAD file into Addon scenery\scenery. I haven't had time to check some of the stuff that Nick reports, but wanted to confirm this one at least. As added information I have my max vertex level to 20.
Thanks for the great work, looking forward to exploring.

A pity a bit, since GB2 is out this weekend I was hoping to meet you chaps online there.
Oh well, next friday a GB meet at Juneau to show eachothers findings??
Me too, and that sounds like a great idea.

As much as I enjoyed the fly-in I just can't get the hang of heli's. I've read all the tips and tutorials, and spent time practicing, but I just end up spinning in circles or plummeting to the ground in a most unlandable fashion. :(

Yes, I think it does depend on who's online in relation to your own machine. I too have this problem on a regular basis and have missed many a fly-in in the past because of it. In fact, I almost missed this last one as well do to the connection issue, but it finally let me in at the last minute. Just the wonders of the internet I guess, but the last time I had issues I found it was because I couldn't get to one of the players machines. I know this because we couldn't even connect directly.
The thing that kind of bums me out is that you would think that connecting to a centralized server would eliminate the need for each pc to talk to one another, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
So while I can't offer a solution, I can say that you are not alone.

Thanks fellas, it was a blast.
Chris, actually that is just good 'ole Ultimate Terrain and Ground Environment working together. Makes for an enjoyable combination.

Hey guys. Once again it was a pleasure to fly with you today and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
Here's a few shots I took for your pleasure.
I had a number of issues trying to get connected to the server, but I finally did just as I was due to take off. This is right after and I was pouring it on a little thicker to try and make up time.
Crossing over the Columbia as I made a cruise of 4000 feet.
Chris off to my 8 o'clock now who as we all know ended up winning our little competition.
Here I am right after landing, some of the guys keeping an eye on us.
Chris coming in behind me, fighting a little cross wind but right on schedule.
Someone doing a little joy riding over the field.
Thought I'd do a little maintenance on my bird while waiting for others to arrive.
The amazing, mystical floating Dornier.
Chris doing a high speed flyby with Shamir close behind. They are actually in the Eagle, but I don't have that installed at the moment.
Matt making a nice landing in his 182Q.
And of course the group photo with everyone sitting still and saying cheese except of course for Shamir.

Yep, great stuff Phil. Thanks for being our photographer. Odd though in your shot I seem to be off the runway, but on my I was dead center. Of course it also shows my prop at a stop too, so must be one of those weird online things.

Just to add my thanks to Tinman. I appreciate the time you took to organize this and make my first Emma fly-in a great. Cheers!

I'm in the DO-27 as well (should be interesting) with Jeff's UD reg.

Made a test run in her today and came up pretty nicely.

I was going to mention that. Even if you download the same paint, the title section in your aircraft.cfg has to be the same for it to work. Some of these paints don't provide a "standard" config entry.
My plane has changed 5 times and may have just changed again this morning. If I can figure out this damn DO-27 I may be in that.
-
I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know how close I'll come to my designated landing time, but it should be a great flight nonetheless.
-
We prefer the term "electronic direct marketing" I'll thank you very much.
-
I have the Cirrus... :?

EDIT:
Plane: DO-27 in N321PB colors: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CaDLID=93486
Departing: KHIO
Departure time: 18:10
GPS direct to Emma (I know, damn rookie)
EFFC #: EFC-987
Looking forward to it.

Yes, definitely a good choice. I think I need to re-evaluate my starting location though as I didn't realize (translation: I didn't read the instructions in plain English) that you got negative points for a longer flight time. So, while I intend to stick with a slower aircraft, I need a longer flight.

Does this require the utility to be running in the background while in Flight sim, or is it a set and forget kind of thing? What if I have this and also another utility like Dolby cockpit sounds? Is that now two additional utilities running in the background? Are there video samples somewhere for these products?
