I'm sure you are waiting for a long time as the latest X-Plane 10 software is about 40.000 lines of code which we provide for free. it includes not only the drivers for the gauges, the radios, the FFB yoke and the I/O module, but it does it in one single software.
And as your post is dated March second, I would suggest to visit more regularly our website, as the new software was released on March 1.
-
I just would say that our FFB is fine and costs 1/3 of the price that is currently mentioned. By the way, the company already had a very substantial price reduction since last year, as the same procudt was then sold at 33.000 swiss francs (35.000 USD or 27.000 EUR)
Ours comas at 1240 and 1450 respectively for the GA and B737 version.
All FFB parameters can be tweaked. Customers who bought one will never go back to the normal yokes!

I know that it has been a long time, but for those who check the website rather than complaining on the forum, they will have noticed that there has been a Beta version available since August last year and the latest version has been uploaded last month.
We have release the final version for download on March 1. The new version (v9.2.1) integrates the complete range of Flight Illusion products.
The new software allow the user to run a CIM module with the connected gauges, two USB based I/O modules, one engine cluster and two force- feedback yokes! It can also handle a rudder pedal from other manufacturers via the standard windows Joystick interface. The package also includes documentation and manuals.
Suppport for X-plane 9 will be stopped as X-plane V10 is the standard now

Hi Frederik
as told by mail, the best is to send it back for repair. It is either the motor or the power supply. We will get it back asap.

Hi Walt an JoeC
Let me apologize for not replying sooner. the matter of fact is that we have not been monitoring this forum for a long time, as we were not aware this was still on-line. The forum is hosted by Simflight and we thought it has been disconnected, as we are working on our own forum that will be connected to our upcoming website and the new knowledge base. The thing is that this support forum was mainly for sharing information rather than getting technical info from us. For that, we have our own website and the mail address: support@flightillusion.com
Walt, tell me what the problem is. you can contact me through mark@flightillusion.com
JoeC, the same goes for you. Just contact me and let me know what kind of support you need.

The chronometer shows time in normal operation (you can choose between real time or elapsed time from the configuration screen). The hand is always showing the seconds. When you want to use the chronometer, press CHR and the hand will move towards O (already counting the seconds elapsed). A LED marking will show that chronometer is in operation.

are you using FSX? or still FS2004. Because in FSX the APU function is supported.
-
The 737 Force Feedback yoke will give you a true experience as all the movements occurring during flight will be transferred to the yoke (runway bumps, turbulence, increasing force with increasing speed, etc)
There is a trim button, an AP disconnect button and a PTT button, but you can assign any function to these buttons.
Of course, the yoke is compatible with any add-on, as we use the data from FSUIPC to connect with Flightsim.
I'm not sure any reviews have been written so far, but th general feeling of our customers is very positive, as the yoke will tend to keep you inside the simulation.
best regards`

Don't worry Stephane. It is worth the wait. We make the best products available for Flight sim builders.

We are still working on a new version of the software that is compatible with X-Plane 10. The reason is that som variables (like the offsets in FSX) are constantly changing with eat version of X-plane. That is why it takes longer.
-
Actually it is quite simple.
The switches basically connect two wires.
The input switches on the I/O module "see" that a switch is activated when one of the wires is connected to Grnd.
So, Ground (or zero) is common and when a wire from a switch is in contact with that common ground the I/O module logic will see that switch as "On".

Hi guys
I'm taking upo the forum again. We haven't been supportive on this forum for quite some time
Let me check wit Peter what the status is of X-Plane 10 and I'll revert later

Hi Denis,
As the core of Prepar3D is based on FSX, we can guarantee the compatibility with Lockheed Martin's program.

Hi Warren,
First of all a short description on the way it works.
On top we have the Microsoft Flight Simulator software. This application runs the flight model and all variables on plane situation and parameters is generated here. Things like attitude, altitude, etc. originate from there.
Then we have FSUIPC. This is a program that makes the internal variables of MS-FS available to other applications. On one side it reads and/or writes the MS-FS variables and on the other side it interfaces with the applications that want to get or put data from or to that MS-FS internals. As such it is a sort of Client-Server function that “glues” the external application to the heart of the MS-FS fight model.
Our control program uses that interface and basically it is a clock driven program. That means that every so many milliseconds this application is activated, reads the MS-FS internals via FSUIPC, do some recalculation to create needle positions, and write these to the gauges. This process takes very limited process power and the frequency it is doing that is programmable. By default this is done about 30 times per second and this frequency should result in smooth moving needles and indications. The human eye will be too slow to see this update frequency.
However, The principle is that both MS-FS and FSUIPC have new and updated variables in the same update frequency. If not, the control program will send the same needle positions for a number of times.
To check the process frequency the FI control program is executed, there is on the status screen an indicator showing the average number of updates done per second.
So, there are many reasons that can cause slow or non-smooth needle movement, but by monitoring the update frequency in the control program it can be seen whether the problem is caused by the control program. If, lets say, this is higher than 10 time per second, it should be acceptable. If lower, the program doesn’t get a sufficient process time and this can have many reasons like processor power, memory size, program priority, transfer latency, etc.
But in case the program update frequency is acceptable and needles are still not moving smoothly, the problem must be found in FSUIPC and/or MS-FS. A possible diagnosis is to use the FSUIPC logging (do this for a short time as it creates massive disk files!) and analyse the activities and time stamps of FSUIPC interactions.

we are going to develop an RMI for B737 in the near future. We expect Q3 or Q4 to be ready

Yes you can,
we are now finilazing the development of a powered connector cable allowing 12 or 24 volt light.
for more info, send me a mail at mark@flightillusion.com

Sorry for the late reply,
we are looking into the matter. It seems that you should be able to get the normal framerate
Peter is looking at it and we will revert

Hi Thomas,
Have you tried setting up the interface on a different COM port?
I will send you the old software (version 6.4)
You can unzip this in your GSA software folder and run the old version, then see if the problem is still there.
Also, you could send us uour config file. (the one you saved all the assigned gauges under)
Best regards

I will pass the message to development. No idea what is going on. When you wait 10 seconds, the default config file loads in and starts.
Don't know why it is not working under FSUIPC
I'll revert

The values that are written in the throttle ofsetts from somewhere else are interferences. It's normal and does not require doing anything about it. As soon as you connect other pot meters to the connector, the signal of the potmeter will be strong enough to overwrite this.
Where are you located?

Please don't try to calibrate the almtimeter (or the clock or the attitude indicator)
Our gauges are already calibrated. modifying these settings will alter the information in the IC and will be difficult te reset.
I hope your problem has been solved in the meantime
Best regards

Hi mathias,
Our gauges are made exactly to match reality, however, that is not so for Flight Simulator. these functions are not yet simulated. However, as soon as an addon would be released which assigns these button movements, we will be able to implement them.
What I mean is, our gauges are ready to be modified, should someone bring out a realistic radio addon.

Hi Dirk
go to the tab "create functions by offset" and download the raw offset file from FSUIPC. Look up what engine offsets are typical for helicopters. There a a lot

Hi guys
Let me explain what this forum is. It is a place for all cockpit builders who want to share their thoughts about the products and all people who want to build a cockpit using our gauges. The interaction between both parties will lead - hopefully - to a better understanding of how to integrate gauges in a cockpit setup.
If you have technical questions, you should address these to support@flightillusion.com
If you have commercial questions, you can address them to mark@flightillusion.com
The response time over these channels is about 2 days. As we do not monitor this forum regularly -it is your forum- the response time can be several weeks, very often leading to frustration.
We do not use this forum to announce software updates or newer products. For that, we have our website: www.flightillusion.com
