  1. Hi guys

As I uninstalled FS9, I accidently deleted my software directory. (In the last 3 months, i only used FS X, and need some drive space for new FS X scenes.)

So I tried to reinstall the software :

First try with last upgrade from 4.4.1. The software detects the gauges and lets me configure my instruments, but there are 2 problems. first is the new item for Digital Altimeter Display. Testing the display completely blocks the digits. Second problem, i cannot launch the driver, When i press run , I get a message box like Gauge 01 ID and so on. When i uninstall the given instrument, the message box speeks from next one...

Now, i have installed the 4.4 driver, I have the same problem. I see my instruments in the list but there status is UNKNOWN.

So, I tried the different comports, but only the comport 3 gives the this message box. The other values don't say anything, but don't run the gauges.

On first page, I see the FSUIPC status is OK, Simulator version don't detect FS X and if I run, the values shown like altitude are not true, the gauges cannot work or the message box stops the driver.

So, what did I wrong ?

    SO SOS SOS

  2. Hi Manny

Yes I do with 1 entry under that

    fssound.dll=1

    OK, i'll try

BTW, I am not sure I understand your Q there "Is the FI digital altimeter unable to work with changing weather environment,"

You have to change the Pressure using that knob on the altimeter guage as you move from one pressure system to another just like in the real world. It would not change on its own.

Yes, i do so. I start FS, an at the beginning, altitude and pressure on the altimeter are like FS gauges. Now, all 10 seconds, the altitude changes with automatic weather, and the altimeter follows the gauge. But when I turn the pressure knob, during the first 10 seconds, everythings goes well, altimeter pressure and altitude are changing, and FS gauge follows. But after this delay, turning pressure knob has no effect, altimeter and FS gauge don't react. But when FS indicated altitude changes, the altimeter follows, the know the pressure from altimeter is incorrect and when i turn the knob, pressure value changes only on the altimeter, altitude from the altimeter and from the gauge don't move. So FS is master for indicated altitude, and the altimeter is not master for pressure. I don't undestand.

When I go to G-Step Control and make a stop/run, everything works, but after a few seconds, the pressure master is freezed too. (So it sounds not harware default)...

I thought yesterday that FSSOUND.DLL was interfering (it has effect on my Go-flight modules), but I have tried 1 and 0, and there is no difference...

    Thanks for your help

    Denis

  3. Hi

So, I start FS, then Gstep and the digital altimeter reflects the same pressure and altitude as FS. Setting pressure to ATIS value bringes the altitude to correct value, in hardware and in FS too.

But when i connect IVAO or when I set FS to real weather, then the altimeter goes crazy, pressure and altitude from harware and FS are different, and turning the knob has no effect, the altimeter is freezed and pressure value has no effect to altitude.

Is the FI digital altimeter unable to work with changing weather environment, or is the driver very subtil to set up (this driver does not show the current settings, hi shows always default values, it is very ennoying e.g. for needle speed) or is my own exemplar disfunctionning ?

Is anybody using a digital altimeter successfull with real weather or IVAO ?

    thanks for answer

    Denis

  4. Hi Simbuff

Actually, instrument lighting has only 3 possibilities: never, always, and automatic in connection with nav lights.

    :?

Should it not be driven by selecting panel light ?

Should not a digital instrument be activated with avionics status ?

And could it be a command that switches altimeter display in inches of mercury and millibars ?

    Best regards

    Denis

  5. Hi Simbuff

When i set a data for a gauge (e.g. needle speed to 90%, which is the most realistic setting), and then save it, OK, it works fine. :P

But next time I call the configuration of the gauge, the screen don't display the actual setting, but ever 100%. :!:

I think it should be changed in a next driver version.

    Best regards

    Denis

  6. Hi

I saw same thing with V3 software.

I suppose that each file has his own port number, and you have to save the configuration atter setting the good one (4 for me). And now it works fine !

    Denis

    Hi there,

I'm having some real problems getting my gauges to work. They have been working, but now seem to have stopped.

I have an ASI and Flaps Indicator and the interface board. I'm using V3 software.

The new USB port appears in the Device Manager, but whatever port I set it to (currently 9) the software doesn't see the gauges. In fact, when I set the software to use the same port number as set in the Device Manager, I get a message saying "Communication port error; check the correct portnumber. Current ComPort does not exist or isn't operational" - even though it's the same one!

I'm at a loss - has anyone any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  7. :!: :D Also, the screw holes are 4 mm (and not 3 mm like some FI documentations are saying).

    What type of screws ? I found 4,2 X 12,5. Are they good for a 3 mm panel ? :?:

 What are the exceptions :

 Digital Altimeter needs a 12 mm hole down right , I think GSA 40 needs 12 mm down left and down right.

:?: Are there other gauges needing such exception (Vor1, Vor2, ADF ?)

:!: :!: :!: I have to command my panel cutout and need all these datas. :!: :!: :!:

  9. Hi

You should give us more precisions : For Digital altimeter (also main instruments), I see that the shrubs are not simetric, the horizontal distance is approx 75 mm and approx 42 mm for vertical distance. I think the holes are 3 mm large and the main hole should be 80mm. But there is another hole for the pressure button : what are exact position and dimensions ?

When i see your documentations, I am not sure that all the main instruments have same shrub disposition. The dimensions given by Simware are 65 mm between the 2 holes (that seems false when i see my own instrument, and the vertical distance is not shown.

I don't want to wait longer to command a metallic front panel, and need the exact dimensions for all kind of instruments.

    Where are there ?

    Thanks for advice

  10. I've tryed this

Launch FS situation in a B737 engines on. Pressure set to 29.92.

Launch program, the altimeter says 1013 and 40 feet.

    Press RUN

Altimeter says minus 1897, pressure 1013 FS says NEG altitude and pressure 0948/27.99

Turning and/or pressing the knob has no effect.

I also released the knob to turn directly the potentiometer axis, but no change ????

    Dear Denis,

First of all, we apologise for the late reply. I really thought you found it already. But anyway. Please consider the following.

When you change something with the mouse on your panel (on screen) e.g. the pressure, this will NOT reflect on your gauge. This is due to the fact that there is no readback of the value in that direction.

If you change the pressure on the gauge, the figures on the digital display should change (up or down) and the altitude should change accordingly on your gauge.

These changes should be reflected in FS.

Now, you can test this by doing the following. Startup FS and then the software. don't forget to press RUN and watch how the values come to life in the synoptic frame. (if you're flying of course)

Change the value on your altimeter by turning the knob. The changes should be visible on the screen. This is a proof that it does work, since the values you see on screen are read by FSUIPC and come directly from FS

If this does not happen, let us know and we'll go from there.

By the way, we have delivered already a bunch of customers and they are all very pleased. Somtimes there were problems and these were adressed and fixed. I'm confident we'll fix yours as well.

As to the manual, I have to grant you that it is not complete. We are currently working on that.

    best regards

  11. So, I don't have any idea how long you will work on my problem. I tested everything, FS turning fine with a B737 two engines on, 64 reads per seconds. No way to obtain other pressure display than standard value.

I don't undestand why changing pressure in FS should not affect the altimeter pressure display. The indicated altitude reflects the changes. But I'm sure that turning the knob has no effect :?:

    Denis,

let me look into the problem. Please give me some time, because i don't have the altimeter here, but we'll be at Blackpool and we'll try to simulate the problem overthere.

What we can say is that it's normal that changes made with the mouse on the FS panel will not reflect in the altimeter. You will have to turn the knob and then it will change in FS.

If that is not working, let us know

    Bets regards

  12. Hi,

I found it in the download section. When it works, it tells me 1.4.6...

    Hi,

The instrument is locking nice but are difficult to work with.

Altimeter: I can only get the needle to functions Together whit FS

Flap indicator: No luck at all, only light

    Airspeed indicator:

    Complete deed, only light.

Where did you get the Control Program 1.4.6?

I can only se Ver. 1.1 in the download section.

    Lasse

  13. Hi

Turning or pressing the knob has no effect. I also saw that the gauge Backlight works only together with taxi light command and not with panel light ? :?:

    FS9.1, XP sp2, FSUIPC 3.400 and Control program 1.4.6 USB 1.1

When I change pressure with the mouse in FS, the altitude changes (needle and digit) like in FS. But when i list the avalaible functions, I don't see anything about airpressure.

How should the knob work ? Pressing, turnig, turning + pressing ? I tried everything !

Is there anywhere documentation about the Control Program ? It is not so simple to use. :( How works the functions lists ?

How can I add an I/O module ?

    Thanks for advice

    Denis

  14. Hello

  My brand new altimeter is wonderful !

 But there is a little problem with the pressure : the knob does'nt work, the digital display for pressure shows always standard pressure. When i switch between the 2 modes, I get 29.92 or 1013, but changing pressure in FS or in driver don't affect the digits. The altitude display is impacted when I change pressure.

In the driver, I don't find baro pressure function. Is that the explanation ? :?:
