  1. Many thanks Pete for the clear explanation. I'll try installing as you suggest. Stuart
  2. [MOVED TO THE SUPPORT FORUM] I have fsuipc4.4938c installed and working in fsx steam (FSXSE). However an add-on program (traffic optimiser) only seems to want to work with the FSX SP1 simconnect version, which I could install from the boxed FSX SDK that I still have on disk. Would installing this older version of simconnect upset installation of either fsuipc or FSXSE, since it seems recent changes to fsuipc for it to work on FSXSE was due to changes Dovetail made to simconnect? Stuart
  3. Pete, are DTG willing to discuss their development plans / issues with yourself, rather than you trying to pick up the pieces. Are you in correspondence with them. Seems that might be the best way forward for everyone? Just a thought! Stuart
  4. Thanks Pete, I'll check whether I have PanView set to FS Control rather than fsuipc direct, that may be the problem. If it is a ready set then I may look at the acceleration aspect. Thanks again for your support. Stuart
  5. Peter, thanks for the prompt response, I'm not on my pc this evening, but I think I have 'mouse look' enabled in the fsuipc.INI, rather than in FSX. The assigned hat switch moves quite slowly compared with the mouse though, the latter being quite smooth and precise. Can you think of any conflict which might cause this? Should I disable 'mouse look' perhaps and use the default FSX zoom function. I would be happy to use the hat switch panning for moving around the vc if it was faster. BTW, how does one increase the speed of the axis assignment for panning and should it be assigned as Direct to Fsuipc, or to FSX? Cheers, Stuart
  6. I have assigned the hat switch on my CH joystick to 'Pan View', but when using it is quite slow panning in each direction, when compared with using the central mouse button/mouse used for zooming/panning. Is there anyway to speed up the panning when using the hat switch axis assignment and still maintain use of the central mouse wheel for zooming in/out? Regards, Stuart
  7. Hi Graham, I always used to configure my throttles in FSX and then fine tune the calibration in fsuipc, always seemed to work OK. I think from reading various posts that it it is probably better to disable the throttles etc in FSX and only adding through fsuipc. You can then configure different axis per aircraft. I will probably try to do this more in the future. Hope this helps. Cheers, Stuart
  8. Pete, re 4.933. I'll check it out on release and let you know if I have any further issues. Have a great holiday. I too am off next week too, so further test on my system will have to wait also. All the best, Stuart
  9. Pete, One other thing which ma affect display issues. I checked dxdiag.exe and noticed that I am running DX11. the diagnostics said everything was working OK. Stuart
  10. Pete, Managed to test 4.932 this afternoon. Although the AdvDisplay window did disappear, I think it was when I called up the GSX settings dialogue, I was though able to call it back using the Ctrl-x toggle that I had setup in my ini file. It did seem slow in reacting to my RC4 key presses, but that may be due to other programs running, also RC4 did not respond to voice commands via MCE, but I shall discuss that with MCE support. I was running: RC4, MCE, GSX and Accufeel effects. Sorry that I can't be more definitive, but from the disappearing window aspect it seemed OK. Thanks again, for your continued support. Stuart
  11. OK Pete, I was not trying to point any finger at fsuipc per say. It's a great program which I have been using for years, I was just picking up on something the other poster had stated about version 4.929 working for him previously. I also hadn't sighted your response to this post when I responded to Ron on the RC4 forum. Hence had not got around to testing. I shall happily try the beta 4.932 version this afternoon, if I have time, but will in any case let you know before Saturday. Perhaps the other poster in this thread may also be able to test and give you feedback. Perhaps drop him a personal message in case he doesn't pickup these latest posts. Many thanks, Kind regards, Stuart
  12. Hi, Pete. It's Stuart again, having just sighted the subsequent posts following my initial one. It seems the disappearing window is not confined to my own issue. I solved my initial problem of RC4 not responding, it was caused by a corrupted panel in my aircraft not turning on avionics. However, I too have the issue with the AdvDisplay window disappearing after a few seconds, probably after the first RC4 key presses. I am not running Prepare3d, and use FSX on single screen. From advice from Ron Ginsburg (RC4 Support group) I tried assigning Ctrl-x to AdvDisplay in fsuipc.ini (AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10), but that doesn't help bring the window back when it disappears. I too did not have this issues on previous flights. Could it be an issue specific to the latest P3d release of fsuipc? Would it be possible for me to reinstall fsuipc 4.929, and still keep the registry key? Maybe that may help isolate whether the problem still exists? Regards, Stuart Hyett P.s. You asked: "You say you are one of the pilot voices on RC4. Is this new, or are you in fact an old hand with RC4?" I am an old hand, as you put it, being one of the original pilot voices and beta tester of RC5, which subsequently got shelved.
  13. Thanks Pete, I did think that may have been the case. I haven't looked yet but presume the "mouse move toggle" option can be set in 'button assingments' in the fsuipc tab for such. I shall need to investigate as I haven't used button assignments before. Regards, Stuart
  14. I recently bought a mouse with left/right tilt, in order to use the fsuipc function to use the mouse to move left and right. I used to press the middle mouse button to pan left and right and up and down, and on release was able to use the forward/back motion on the mouse wheel to operate panel buttons to adjust various values (radio, nav, altitude etc.). Now, it seems, having made some settings in fsuipc.ini, I can still use the pan left/fight function as before by pressing the mouse wheel as well as forward/back using the wheel while pressed, as well as up / down moving the mouse itself forward or back (while pressed), plus left/right movement by using the mouse tilt (wheel not pressed). However, I can no longer use the mouse wheel forward/back motion on its own (not pressed) to change panel values. If possible what settings do I need to make in the fsuipc.ini in order to perform the following: 1. Tilt mouse wheel left/right to move left/right, plus 2. Press mouse wheel to enable left/right panning, up/down panning and forward/backward movement while wheel is pressed...plus 3. Still use mouse wheel forward/back movement (while not pressed) to change panel values. Is it possible to set fsuipc.ini settings to enable all 3 above, or does one have to compromise? Appreciate advice, Thank you, Stuart
  15. After posting I realised that I had posted this on the wrong forum, but I am leaving it in case anyone reading has any knowledge in this field. Sorry Peter. I am having some difficulties with RC4 and have a few questions. In FSX I am on the Apron at Oban in Scotland and on starting RC4 I get the popup window stating "RC4 Ready". I then get the following items: 2....WX, and 4. CLS by FSS. I am using MCE, which is started when RC4 is ready. However, when I use the speak button and request "Clearance, Skyways 373 request clearance to Edinburgh" I get no response from RC4. I then try by pressing key 4, but still nothing. Then for some unknown reason the RC4 window dissapears and I can't seem to get it back, and it would appear that RC4 has frozen. I am also using GSX, and am not sue if this is interfering somehow, although I have seen videos with RC4, MCE and GSX all working together. How should one request clearance from FSS. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to stop the RC4 window disappearing,of getting it back? Is there anything specifically that needs to be set for RC4 to work alongside GSX? I hope Pete or someone can help me out with the above? Regards, Stuart Hyett (pilot voice on RC4)
