  1. That option is already available for ALL our products..... in fact for MOST of simMarket's products (it is THEM copying it onto a CD for you).

Of course we don't have control over the additional cost, since we do not handle distribution ourselves.

Check out the simMarket product pages and you'll see the CD-option mentioned on almost every product

Thanks for the info on this. Sorry that I missed this at SimMarket. I've only been buying the smaller files because of my problems downloading large files and somehow I missed that they offer CDs. This is good news since I should still be able to get Tongass fjords when it comes out. :) Thanks again for the reply.

BTW, do you know if they ship to other countries? I live in the U.S.

  2. Sadly the only kind of broad band connection that is available in my area is wireless broadband which is pretty expensive so it’s kind of out of my reach at the moment.

I am a little familiar with the publishing of a hard copy so I can see where you are coming from. Have you considered making it an option for a few dollars more to have the downloadable file shipped to the buyer on a CDR? I’m no expert but that seems like it would be a bit easier than a box product with a printed manual. As long as the buyer knew they where getting only the same file that online buyers got, it might work. One of the payware plane designers I beta test for burns his own disks and puts the document on the disk with the files instead of printing a hard copy, so it’s not unheard of.

  3. I don't know how I managed to miss this post until now. This is great news. I've been wishing that Mr. Sandmann would do something to fill in the area between Misty Fjords and Glacier Bay as these sceneries are so good they really kill the rest of SE Alaska. :P

I'm hoping to replace my main monitor next month, but once that's out of the way, I can start saving up for this one. Hope that there will be a box version available for those of us who don't have broad band.

  4. Thank you very much to Maurizo, Peter and everyone else who helped solve this problem. :D

The contact points were what I first suspected to be the problem, but I didn’t know what the classes where, so I couldn’t try anything. I recommend keeping this information available for others.

    Thanks again.

  5. Thanks for taking a look, Peter. Sounds like it's not the aircraft.cfg file. I had thought that there might be a contact point normally used only for seaplanes in there, but I don't know what the class numbers are for these, so I wasn't able to check that.

I had forgotten about the oil when I was writing before, but I'm pretty sure I left that in.

I get the same steel boxes for this plane. Perhaps that is the max load.

I hadn't thought about the air file. Perhaps the same air file is used with all the models and there is something in there for the amphibian model?

  6. That's too bad, it is one of the best planes out there. It's possible the the problem is the Maam DC3's aircraft.cfg file, as I don't think the plane uses any of those external weight loaders that some planes do.

By changing the weight in all the stations except for the pilot and copilot to 0, I've been able to get the plane to work okay with FS Cargo as long as I stay away from the water.

  7. Those are great shots. I love bush flying in Misty Fjords with FSCargo too. I just recently got RXP’s 530 and have been thinking about fixing up a panel for DF’s A36 with it. Judging from your pics, it looks pretty good in there.

One of my own shots while flying in MF.

  8. Thanks for the reply. I like FSCargo so much that I hardly fly without it. Ill have to try bumping this message again when Maurizio is in the neighborhood. I’m looking forward to the upgrade.

One of the planes I have this problem with is the MAAM DC3. She works fine as long as I fly where there are no water rwys, but that keeps me out of places like Alaska when fly her. Here’s a shot of me over Phoenix in Arizona, about 50 miles south of where I really live. I’m on my way to Las Vegas with hull full of cargo. (using FSCargo) :)

  9. Will the light version of FS Cargo in Freight Dogs interfere with the full version that I already have of FS Cargo installed if I get FD?

Also, I have a little suggestion. I was thinking that it would be neat if FS Cargo could have passengers too? A lot of bush pilots often get jobs taking one or two people places. It would be neat to see a person standing at the pickup point, then disappear when you load them onto the plane. It may be stretching things a little, but it seems to me that one or two person passenger loads would fit right in with FS Cargo’s bush pilot theme. :D

  10. Thanks for the reply. I decided to follow your advice and reinstall MF. When that didn’t help, I decided to try searching the FS9 default textures for corruption. Booting up JABTex, I found about 25 corrupt textures scattered about FS9’s folders. I fixed every one of them using DXTBmp. So far I haven’t had another CTD, so hopefully everything is fixed. I don’t know why these CTDs were more likely to happen when flying in MF, but I do believe the problem was in the default textures and not MF itself.

  11. Thanks for the reply.

Just got back from a great flight. Flew some cargo (FS Cargo) in a Super Otter from MMI1 to PAPG and beat the time by 5 minutes. It was a lot of fun. :D http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a305/cargo2.jpg

Checking for double Afcads was the second thing I did. (First thing I tried was turning on ‘Render to Texture.’) Neither of these helped. After changing the seasons fixed the problem, I started to suspect a corrupt texture.

I tried another test without the frozen lakes (I had it on before) and this time there was no CTD. Perhaps I have a bad texture in the frozen lake files. I'll have to test a few more times to be sure. Is there any way to replace these without having to reinstall MF?

  12. I just got back from doing some testing and I can say that the problem seems to only happen in winter. I set the clock back to Oct. and they CTD stopped. I have several texture sets that I use in my scenery/world folder so I do some switching of the texture sets and see what happens. This should let me know if I have corrupt texture in FS or MF.

  13. Being occupied with other matters, I hadn’t flown in about a week. Yesterday I thought I’d do a little flying around Misty Fjords in Milton Shupes’ Beech 18. Every time while I was taxiing out to the runway, I would get a crash to the desktop. After a number of tries, I switched over to DF’s Beech Baron and everything seemed to be fine. I assumed that something was messed up with the plane, but today, I was flying FSD’s Piper Navajo from PAJN to PAKT and when I began to approach PAKT, I got another CTD. Now I think it may be something to do with the area, any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

  14. I was passing through and noticed your problem and thought I'd make a suggestion. There are sometimes certain textures that require 'render to texture' to be checked in your FS9 display menu. If FS9 hits one of these textures and this feature is turned off, it creates CTD just like you are describing. You may want to check and see if this is the problem. In my experience, these kind of textures can be seasonal.

These textures usually come from an add-on or another. I make a habit of hunting them down on my system and converting them so that I don't need to turn this feature on. Usually they are in cloud or water textures. From what I have seen of it, I don't think there are any textures with this problem in MF, so if this does turn out to be your problem, then it's probably from another add-on.

  15. Thanks for all the replies.

After reading your post earlier, Rady, I went back and tried enlarging the buoy area and this worked. I wasn’t sure why this worked, but now that I’ve seen your last post, I think I did what you did, by enlarging the cargo area, I overlapped the designator area.

  16. Thanks for the reply.

I am using a third party water replacement addon. I was not aware that changing the water texture could cause something like this. I had assumed that changing the TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL setting from 19 to 20 had caused it. (sorry about the assumption) I will try putting the default water back in and see if the problem is solved.

Here is a picture of the ‘climbing water’. This is just outside of the Misty Fjords area, as I do not get this problem when in the Misty Fjords scenery.
