  1. I went to pick up some cargo at Hunter’s Cannery and when I got within the buoys, the program would not give me the pick up cargo command. Any ideas what was wrong?

I will say that hunting down this dock was a lot of fun. Those windows sure look real. :D

Here’s a picture of the situation, I moved in and out of the marked area several times to see if I could get it to work. Thanks for any help you can offer.

  2. My Alaska mesh is rather old, it is JF's FS Terrain, so I had expected that there may be some problems with it and MF. When ever I leave the Misty Fjord area, I see a lot of climbing water on my old mesh.

I am aware of what is causing this, so I'd like to replace it with a new mesh. My question is, can you recommend one that works well with the setting 'TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20' so that when I fly out of MF, I won't see the climbing water.

I need a mesh I can buy in box version as I have dial up internet. I know that you have a patch for Ultimate Terrain, would this work well?

    Thanks for you time.

  3. My order for Misty Fjords finely arrived today. I'm still in the process of finding the best compromise between quality and performance, but from the flights I've done already, I can tell that this is a wonderful product. I don't usually buy addons in the price range that this one was in, but one flight with MF and I could tell that it was well worth it. Thanks for the great product.

  4. Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. FS Quality told me to contact them if it hadn't arrived by the end of this week. I'm starting to get a little concerned, thinking my package may have been lost in the mail, so I wrote them yesterday. I probably won't hear from them until Monday. Hopefully we'll get every thing worked out.

  5. For my two cents, I’d recommend having the program increase time for long rwy airports as these are the most likely to be busy and slow the pilot up.

That said, I don’t have a real problem with the time. I have heard that real bush pilots are often given deadlines that are pretty hard to meet. I rather like the challenge, so maybe you could consider some kind of adjuster to turn the difficulty level up and down.

My first flight I was about 20 minutes late, but most of my flights I am around 1-5 minutes late. There is one flight I made where I was 2 minutes early, which was very satisfying because of the difficulty. :)

  6. Thanks for the reply. I kind of figured that since the same person did the mesh for both of these that they would be compatible, but I wanted to make sure. If Glacier Bay is any taste of what's to come, I know I'm going to enjoy Misty Fjords. :)

I use JF's FS Terrain for my main mesh, but the neat thing about it is that you can lower the quality in different sections so that other more detailed mesh will show up instead. If this doesn’t work you can also turn of the mesh in the area of question.

  7. Here are 21 airports in SE Alaska. About 1/2 are seabases and the rest land strips. I do have addon scenery at some of these bases, but I think it will work fine without the addon scenery. Some of the bases will just have the FSC scenery and nothing else if you're missing the addon scenery I use. Well here it is if anyone wants to give it a try.

The addon scenery I use is 'Alaskan Docks SE: Package #1' by Dave Erickson, 'Sitka Scenery' by Al Gay and 'Gustavus Airport' by Frank Betts.

  8. I have Jim Keir and Holger Sandmann's freeware Glacier Bay scenery and mesh with the optional 38m mesh. My order for Misty Fjords should arrive pretty soon and I was wondering if there would be a compatibility issue?

Also if it is compatible, should I keep the 38m mesh or unistall Glacier Bay and reinstall it with the original 76m mesh?

    Thanks for your time.

  9. Thanks. Until you mentioned it, I wasn’t aware that it was available as a download. But I have a dial up connection, so I always order large scenery add-ons in box form since the file sizes are usually too large for me to download. I downloaded all of the Misty Mooring scenery that is in the Misty Mooring world config file (in FS Cargo), so I’m ready to go as soon as it arrives.

  10. I ordered it on SimMarket at the end of last month (Friday 28th). FSQuality told me that it shipped on the second of this month and should take about a fortnight to reach me in Arizona US. Today makes it a fortnight since then, so I am expecting it to turn up fairly soon. (I feel like a kid again, waiting for Christmas LOL)

  11. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it may be an issue with the plane. I’ll play around, maybe I’ll come up with something.

I’d like to suggest that you might consider an option to turn of the weight adding feature in a future release of FS cargo. I know that it wouldn’t be quite as realistic and I prefer to have the wait added to the plane, but with such an option one would still be able to use incompatible planes and then turn the wait on when using compatible planes.

At any rate, I am really enjoying the product, thanks for making it. Now if only my Misty Fjords scenery would arrive, I’d be in virtual bush paradise.

  12. Hello,

I recently got FS Cargo and I like it a lot. After adding about around 20 places in SE Alaska to FS Cargo, I have been having a fun time flying around in my Aerosoft Beaver without any problems.

Today I thought I'd try my other favorite Bush plane, Bill Lyon's Grumman Goose. However, whenever I load cargo on the water, the plane crashes as soon as I load it. I have removed all weight from the plane except the Pilot and Copilot and about 60% fuel. I have also tried moving the dock farther out in the water in case it was too shallow.

Any ideas to fix this problem would be very welcome.

    Thanks for your time.
