Pete Dowson Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I am having a problem with FSMETEO.. When I try to run the program it gets a timeout trying to set the weather... In the FSUIPC.LOG file the following appear: [/question] Sorry, that is a question for the author, Marc Philibert. I am using FSMeteo all the time with no similar problems, even across a Network under WideFS. 289767 Client Application: "fs_meteo" (Id=2188) 289767 C:\Documents and Settings\Eamonn Watson\Desktop\Fsim\fsmeteo\fs_meteo.exe 289767 Product="FS_Meteo" 289767 Company="Marc Philibert" 289767 Key="************" (I REMOVED THE KEY) 303166 NWI weather clear actioned 303166 External weather discarded There was no need to remove the keyit is only valid for FSMeteo anyway and anyone who purchased FSMeteo would have it or be able to read it in any case -- it looks like it is part of the Program Version Information (right click on the EXE and select Properties - Version). I am just curious what this means.. What which means? The log shows FSMeteo connecting successfully to FSUIPC and clearing the weather ready to set its own. There's no error showing there. Maybe FSMeteo is having problems getting the weather from the Internet? Without knowing the specific error message I really couldn't comment -- perhaps a message to FSMeteo support may elicit some help? Maybe there's a parameter in its options which needs to be set differently? Sorry, I'm not much help with this, based on the information available. Regards, Pete
Eamonn Watson Posted February 9, 2004 Author Report Posted February 9, 2004 It says that the external weather was discarded but I will contact Mark to find out what he can say.. Thank you
Pete Dowson Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 It says that the external weather was discarded but When an external weather control program tells FSUIPC to clear the weather, it clears FS's own weather and any previous weather set in the "FS98"-style and "AWI" weather areas, which may have weather remaining from other previous weather programs. That is all that logged comment means. It will say that all the time when the weather is cleared, and is not a problem, nor is it a message from FSMeteo. The message from FSMeteo won't be in the FSUIPC Log file -- that contains messages from FSUIPC, which isn't seeing any problem. The message you need to deal with is the one you are apparently reading that tells you that there was a timeout. In other words, there's nothing you are showing me that indicates a problem and I don't know what the problem could be because I cannot see what you are seeing, nor do I really know FSMeteo well enough to know all of its possible errors. Sorry. I hope you can get it sorted out with Marc. Regards, Pete
