GregG Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Hello again, Pete. What is your policy regarding including the FSUIPC.dll in a freeware installation package? Can I do this? If so, what files do you require to be included at the same time? I checked through the docs and performed a cursory search of the forums and didn't see an answer to this. I apologize if it's been covered frequently before. Thanks again, Greg
Pete Dowson Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Hello again, Pete. What is your policy regarding including the FSUIPC.dll in a freeware installation package? Can I do this? If so, what files do you require to be included at the same time? You can just include the ZIP, as supplied in the Schiratti site. If you want to install the DLL automatically, please be sure to make the installer check the version number of any already-installed version and keep the latest one. And don't replace a user's INI file. If the whole ZIP is too large, just include the DLL but in that case please do include full details of where to get further information. Pointers to the Schiratti site and to here would be a good idea, maybe also to the Registration page. Do you have an access key for your freeware program? Regards, Pete
GregG Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Posted February 8, 2004 Aye, actually I wrote some really nice functionality to check the DLL version and offer to update to the user some months ago, but I never actually included FSUIPC.dll because I hadn't asked you about it. I finally got around to it. :) So I'm going to include just the FSUIPC.dll and will include information about where to get further information (the Schiratti site and this forum) in my documentation, if that sounds alright. I'll also make sure to point out where to register. :) And aye, I do have a freeware key for Livewire Assistant. Thank you very much. So far the functionality based on FSUIPC is working well. Cheers, Greg
