High-Octane Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 Peter, After reading your documents on updated FSUIPC, regarding to paying for register keys... I have no problem or oppose to this. But this concludes to question I am concerned of. I understand, in order to get register key for accredit or selling purpose I must pay for it. But at my situation, I was going to build instrutor staion myself. What on it, I would want PFD/ND, gauges, and etc... or maybe I could draw some image and set up box where values can be displayed over the imagie using Visual Basic. And this would not be for selling purpose.. do I still get to pay for register key?? please clarify this. Much Appreciated Arthur
Pete Dowson Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 I understand, in order to get register key for accredit or selling purpose I must pay for it. You are talking about registration of an application program or module, I assume? If so, then, yes, if you are planning to sell a product using FSUIPC for a profit, then I would expect you to come to some agreement with me about licensing and accrediting the program for its FSUIPC access. All the information you need for this is in the FSUIPC SDK -- please see the Access Registration documentation. That is easy. If you are not making a profit out of something interfacing to FSUIPC, then it is in the same category as freeware and it is entitled to a free access key. However, if it is only a one-off, i.e. for your personal use only, you may still find it worth your while Registering FSUIPC as a User, as you then get both automatic access for your program and the use of all the (gradually extending) user facilities in FSUIPC. But you don't need to pay anything if you don't want to use any of that. Please just read the Access Registration documentation in the SDK and contact me on petedowson@btconnect.com if and when you want a Freeware key. But please note I will be away with no Internet access from February 19th to March 12th inclusive. Regards, Pete
