Infacta Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 I have reviewed the documents on FS2002 variables and FS2000 variables but I am wondering about the following -> I want to interface an analog aileron trim control to FS2002 using the EPIC system but I am not sure which variable I should be using in the FS2002.cfg file? Also I know there is a RUDDER_TRIM_LEFT and RUDDER_TRIM_RIGHT but I want to assign a single analog input to the rudder trim function which variable is suitable? If I want to interface two 'engine cut' analog inputs to FS2002 are the variables MAGNETO1_SET and MAGNETO2_SET suitable? Finally what variable is suitable to interface a toggle 'FD' autopilot panel switch? All replies will be appreciated.

Microsoft did not provide any axis inputs for Aileron or Rudder trim. However, I added this capability into FSUIPC some time ago -- you assign your axes to some axis input which FS does support, but tell FSUIPC the control number and it "pinches" the input and operates the trim for you. You calibrate it on Page 7 of FSUIPC's joystick options. You will need a user-registered FSUIPC for this, and full details of the facilities for assigning such additional axis controls are given in a section of the Advanced User's guide. If I want to interface two 'engine cut' analog inputs to FS2002 are the variables MAGNETO1_SET and MAGNETO2_SET suitable? "Engine cut" usually means fuel cut -- turn off the fuel. That's done by reducing the mixture to zero. There are mixture axes for each engine. The magneto switch merely operates the power to the magnetos on a prop and is the starter on a jet -- it won't stop a jet. Finally what variable is suitable to interface a toggle 'FD' autopilot panel switch? TOGGLE_FLIGHT_DIRECTOR. Regards, Pete
Infacta Posted April 19, 2004 Author Report Posted April 19, 2004 OK, thanks Peter that answers all my questions.
