carbrevi Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 Good night, I am Carlos from Brazil and I'm building a Cessna 172 flight sim setup, with multiple monitors with Wideview (http://www.wideview.it) Wideview has a feature to update weather over clients in a networked setup. Tough it requires a registered version of FSUIPC. I am using 6 (six) computers on my simulator, 5 for outside views and one for server. My question is: For that real weather feature do I need to have a registered copy of FSUIPC in all the six computers, or only in the server is ok?! On server I am also intended to use Project Magenta General Aviation IFR panel, and so I am about to register FSUIPC and WidevieW for the server computer. Thanks for your help!!! Best Regards, Carlos Breviglieri Jr - Brazil
Pete Dowson Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 My question is: For that real weather feature do I need to have a registered copy of FSUIPC in all the six computers, or only in the server is ok?! On server I am also intended to use Project Magenta General Aviation IFR panel, and so I am about to register FSUIPC and WidevieW for the server computer. I should think that WidevieW requires the registration of FSUIPC in all PCs it is using. but that's easy enough for you to do. FSUIPC registration is by and for the user, the owner, it is not specific to a PC. Provided all those PCs are yours, for your use, then you can register FSUIPC with the same details on each one. carbrevi Posted May 18, 2004 Author Report Posted May 18, 2004 Hey Pete, thanks for the help; Perhaps I got another one if you allow me to: - I forgot to mention that this cockpit setup is being built by me, but it is intended to be used in my university (http://www.brazcubas.br) I study aeronautical sciences over here and since the director of the university needed to have a flight simulator, I presented them this project (wideview+FS2004+magenta) all instaled in a cockpit alike module (made of wood). Once it is finished, students will be using it as a learning tool, no extra charges shall be made beside the monthly fee we pay to study on the university. Under that stated above, can I the one registrated FSUIPC over that setup? Really apretiate our help and congratulation for such a great work of yours! Best Regards, Carlos Breviglieri Jr
Pete Dowson Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Under that stated above, can I the one registrated FSUIPC over that setup? Yes, I don't see why not. Regards, Pete
carbrevi Posted May 18, 2004 Author Report Posted May 18, 2004 Thank you Pete, by the way, after reading that what I posted I meant: "...Under that stated above, can I use the one registrated FSUIPC over that setup?..." and I was congratulating your great work on it and great support.
