remont Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I register FSUIPC and WideW yesterday. Using FS2002. Registration code works (FSUIPC and WIDES) ; I restarted the PC and FS2002. As FSUIPC works correctly, I always obtain this message from Wideserver : "This version of Wideserver requires FSUIPC version 2.30 or later. It can carry on but it may not provide consistently correct access to FS variables !" My FSUIPC is 3.22 My wideserver is 6.22 What Can I do ??
Pete Dowson Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 I always obtain this message from Wideserver : "This version of Wideserver requires FSUIPC version 2.30 or later. It can carry on but it may not provide consistently correct access to FS variables !" My FSUIPC is 3.22 My wideserver is 6.22 What Can I do ?? There is no such message in version 6 of WideFS. I think you must have a version 5 WideServer installed in your FS modules folder. The version 6 WideFS would say "This version of WideServer requires FSUIPC version 3.00 or later!" if the wrong FSUIPC was installed. Please show me the FSUIPC and WideServer LOG files if you need further help. Version 5 of WideFS cannot be used with FSUIPC version 3. Regards, Pete
remont Posted June 21, 2004 Author Report Posted June 21, 2004 After your answer, I delete my wideserver.dll and cfg file in my FS2002 module folder. I download from you website the version 6.22. and unzip the wideserver.dll and wideserver.cfg in my FS2002 module folder. Right click on wideserver.dll, propriety said version "6.2.2.1" made the 16th April 2004. Launch FS ----->> Sorry but same error message ! Help ;-) Here is the FSUIPC log (i changed name & Email). ********* FSUIPC, Version 3.22 by Pete Dowson ********* User Name="xxxxxxxxxx" User Addr="xxxxxxx@xxx.xxx" FSUIPC Key is provided WideFS Key is provided [Continuation log requested by user] Module base=61000000 ClassOptions: UIPCMAIN=FF7F, FS98MAIN=FF7F, FS2KMAIN=FF5E WeatherOptions(Orig)=00002001[00002001] InitDelay: 3 seconds LogOptions=00000001 105578 System time = 12:50:39, FS2002 time = 12:49:55 (10:49Z) 105578 WeatherOptions set, now 00002001 (timer=0) [Log closed by user request, and continued in new file] 125375 System time = 12:50:59, FS2002 time = 12:50:02 (10:50Z) 125375 *** FSUIPC log file being closed Memory managed: 2 Allocs, 2 Freed ********* FSUIPC Log file closed ****
remont Posted June 21, 2004 Author Report Posted June 21, 2004 Just to complete : When deletting FSUIPC.dll, and making a complete new installation and registering, it doesn't mark anyway :((( When installing an old FSUIPC (2.93), everything works fine and wideclient connect with My FS. I don't know what to think. if you said that my error message is impossible with version 6.22 !! I read it anyway with a version 6.22. I never download a version 5. I have no doubt about having installed the right version of wideserver.
Pete Dowson Posted June 21, 2004 Report Posted June 21, 2004 it doesn't mark anyway Sorry, what does that mean? When installing an old FSUIPC (2.93), everything works fine and wideclient connect with My FS. This proves conclusively that the WideServer.DLL in your FS Modules folder is version 5, not 6, as there is no way version 6 will run at all with FSUIPC 2.93. I don't know what to think. if you said that my error message is impossible with version 6.22 !! I read it anyway with a version 6.22. I never download a version 5. I have no doubt about having installed the right version of wideserver. I am very sorry, but really, it is not possible. There is no way a version 6 WideServer will run with a Version 2 FSUIPC, they are completely and utterly incompatible. Everything you say is convincing proof that you have a version 5 (or earlier) WideServer installed. In your last message you showed me the FSUIPC LOG, but it is the WideServer LOG which shows the WideServer version. Why don't you check that? Possibly you have renamed an older version of WideServer but still left it in the FS modules folder? To check versions of any of my modules, right-click on them in Explorer and select Properties - Version. Regards, Pete
remont Posted June 21, 2004 Author Report Posted June 21, 2004 Ok, pb solve. There was an old 5.0 Wideserver in my FS folder, not in the module folder. I erase this one. Now it works :-)) Thanks for your work, patience and support. Renaud

I didn't think FS was supposed to load extra modules except from the Modules folder! I will have to watch out for thatthanks for letting me know! Pete
