Hello Peter

I have read much about sending keystrokes to client pc's via FSUIPC or by adding the commands "ActionKeys/KeySend" in the WideClient.ini in your documentation and in this forum.

In my scenario, I just need it "the other way around": On my client pc I have connected hardware (Landing Gear Lever) that raises a Key event (In my case, the letter "G")

So, is it possible, to send this Keystroke from WideClient to my WideFS Server (where FS2002 is running too) ?

kind regards,

Chris

Yes, provided WideClient has the keyboard focus. It's in the WideFS documentation -- see the SendKeyPresses parameter.

Hello Peter,

I add the SendKeyPress parameter to my WideClient.ini and it works really fine! Thank you.

But now I have another sticky problem:

I also use the PM Glass Cockpit Software on this client pc which is loaded via the "Run1"-Command. It seems that PM has the programm and keyboard focus so that my keypress is now tranferred to PM GC instead of FSUIPC. My question: Is it possible to hold the focus on the WideClient-Program while running PM GC ? (without changing task to WideClient)

I have read something about "lock a focus" in a previous thread. Can I "tell" WideClient something like that ?

best regards,

Chris

Sorry, I don't think that's possible as it stands. You'd need to resize the PM GC window slightly, to make rom for a small Wideclient window 9just the title bar showing, say, then click on that title bar.

Most of the effort I've put into supporting cockpits has revolved arond getting away from keyboards altogether, so you can do whatever you want with buttons, for example. Isn't it possible for your hardware to produce button presses instead of keystrokes?

Yes, you're right. I ought to have realized that my setup will lead me into a dead end :?

Fortunately I have the possibility to modify my homebuild Gearlever and simply plug it directly to my EPIC-Card attached on my Server. Guess, that will solve all problems

Thank you anyway,

Crris
