sakilgor Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 I just downloaded FSUIPC and GPSOUT, copied DLLs and INIs to the Modules folder of FS98. About 10-15 seconds after I launch FS it crashes. The same thing happens running on both Win98 and XP. If I remove GPSOUT, the problem goes away (i.e., FSUIPC in Modules by itself does not cause the problem). Am I missing something obvious? (I thought the docs said these were FS98-compatible.) I've had good luck with GPSOUT on FS2004, just need to use it on an older computer running FS98. Help, please. Thanks!

I've had good luck with GPSOUT on FS2004, just need to use it on an older computer running FS98. Help, please. Thanks! Hmmm. It is quite possible that, in all the enhancements made to GPSout over the years, that it is no longer compatible with FS98. I haven't had any dealings with FS98 for many years. Can you ask me again after Christmas some time (if it is still important then), please -- I would need to sort through my old disks and try re-installing it. Regards, Pete
sakilgor Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 I'll do that. I sure appreciate the quick reply. Thanks! Scott

It was recent additions, refinements, using a couple of FS variables not actually present in FS98. Sorry about that. Please use the attached version 2.571 of GPSout. Incidentally, you don't need FSUIPC installed in FS98 to make GPSout work. Regards, Pete GPSout2571.zip
sakilgor Posted January 1, 2005 Author Report Posted January 1, 2005 Thanks very much, Pete! It's working great now. Scott
