jase439 Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 I recently noted the addition of a feature "Enable wind smoothing only while airborne" When this option is enabled, I am finding that when I load an existing situation in which the wx conditions were previously set by a third-party app using the AWI, FSUIPC no longer attempts to smooth my winds. If I disable this checkbox the smoothing seems to work as it did previously. Any ideas as to why this might be? J
Pete Dowson Posted April 2, 2005 Report Posted April 2, 2005 I recently noted the addition of a feature "Enable wind smoothing only while airborne" That's been around for a long time. When this option is enabled, I am finding that when I load an existing situation in which the wx conditions were previously set by a third-party app using the AWI, FSUIPC no longer attempts to smooth my winds. If I disable this checkbox the smoothing seems to work as it did previously.Any ideas as to why this might be? No. It isn't really possible as far as I can see. The wind smoothing in FS2004 is completely separate and independent of the weather source. It acts at the aircraft only, it doesn't change the winds so much as change the effect on the aircraft.
