dfournie Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Pete, In memory offset 02B8 you are providing True Air Speed, which in real aircraft is a derived value generated in the Air Data Computer. Are you performing the temperature and pressure calculations using Indicated Air Speed as the input, and outputting the result of the calculation as TAS in this offset - or - is the TAS value in this offset coming directly from Flight Sim with Microsoft having made the IAS to TAS calculation for you?
Pete Dowson Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 ... is the TAS value in this offset coming directly from Flight Sim with Microsoft having made the IAS to TAS calculation for you? It's direct from FS, but I very much doubt that it calculates it from the IAS. It will be working the other way round. Since it always knows the position relative to the ground and the wind speeds it can more easily derive TAS than IAS. Pete
