David Cox Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Hi there - I hope someone can help ??? I cannot get pushback to work properly - when I use SHIFT + P The aircaft moves backwards but the 1 & 2 keys (on the main keyboard and NUM keyboard) do not cause the A/C to turn right or left and the rudder pedals do not work either. Has anyone come across this or have any idea what could be wrong ? Many thanks David
Pete Dowson Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 I cannot get pushback to work properly - when I use SHIFT + P The aircaft moves backwards but the 1 & 2 keys (on the main keyboard and NUM keyboard) do not cause the A/C to turn right or left and the rudder pedals do not work either. [\quote] Rudder pedals don't interfere with pushback in any case. The aircraft is being moved by an imaginary vehicle, and I don't think rudders work in reverse in any case. The usual reason for the 1 and 2 keypresses not to work is that other controls are occurring between the Shift+P press and the 1 or 2 pressing. If you are using views, or starting engines, during pushback, then the 1 and 2 will be ignored. It's the way FS works. The same will happen with many add-on panels which send controls to FS all the time -- try with a default FS panel and without touching any other keypresses or joystick buttons. In a user-registered copy of the current FSUIPC version all this is fixed by the control accelerations fix option. You can look out of the side window, and/or start engines, whilst pushback is operating, and still select 1 or 2 for the turn. You should also be aware that when you press 1 or 2, the aircraft is still pushed directly back for one aircraft length before being turned. Regards, Pete
David Cox Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 Pete, Thanks for your input - all working OK now that I have turned the FSUIPC option on - the one aircraft length thing is annoying but I'll live with it Cheers David
