mndless Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Pete... Help!! :) Recently started using Squakbox, SB3 System description. FS2004 on server pmRJ on client1 and client2 My first install was putting SB3 on the server. worked fine and I assigned a CH products yoke button to push to talk through FSUIPC.... worked great. I did not like having the SB3 text box on my sceniery screen, so I have moved SB3 to client2. THe program works great. Now I need to determine how to make my yoke button work for PTT when the yoke is attached to the server and SB3 is attached to the client??? Can this be done??? Thanks in advance!! Tony
Pete Dowson Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 THe program works great. Now I need to determine how to make my yoke button work for PTT when the yoke is attached to the server and SB3 is attached to the client??? I don't know anything about SB3, but presumably it either uses the same commands for PTT as Roger Wilco and AVC, or it needs a Keystroke. Try the former first. All this is documented in the WideFS documentation, though admittedly not yet for SB3 which I know nohing about. BTW, I would have hoped that SB3 had their own Support forum where there must be loads of folks who know the answers to questions like these. Regards, Pete
mndless Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 Thanks Pete... I did search the Vatsim (SB3) forum before posting here...., although this isn't a specific SB3 question.... I also searched this forum, knowing that it had to be a widefs issue, and had to have been addressed before... but didn't find what I "thought I was looking for"... :) K... if you say it is in the widefs docs, I trust you.. , will start digging.... :) Really is an easy issue. All I have to do is get the button on the yoke to register the "scroll lock" key press for the client2 computer.. nothing more complicated than that... When SB3 was on the server, and the yoke is connected to the server, it was a simple FSUPIC button assignment... still is a simple button asignment, just over one computer to another.... Obviously, I'm not up to speed on how all this works yet. Thanks for the help!!! Tony
mndless Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 You mean the document that is entitled "How to setup Push To Talk" ??? lol... if it were a snake... :)

Are you sure they don't also support the Roger Wilco / AVC commands. I seem to remember someone in the team saying they would. If so, it is much easier and more reliable than programming keystrokes. Pete Dowson Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 You mean the document that is entitled "How to setup Push To Talk" ??? Well, that was contributed by someone else. The WideFS document covers it in a section called "PTT (push to talk) for Roger Wilco, AVC and TeamSpeak". It's near the end so perhaps you never got that far? The contributed document to which you refer may be more understandable for you -- it does have pictures too! I clean forgot it was there. However, it will only apply if SB3 does support that method. Otherwise you have to set up the KeySends in the INI file to send the keystroke instead, as described for TeamSpeak. Regards, Pete
