djt Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I just installed PMDG’s 737 NG 600/700 on a fresh FS2004 install with the 9.1 update. When trying to start FS2004 I get the following error message and the sim never starts. “The version of FS2004 detected is not compatible with this version of FSUIPC! It is build 9.01.40901... You need the correct version of FS2004. Check the Help-About : the build should be 9.00.30612. FSUIPC will terminate when you select OK.” Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
Pete Dowson Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I just installed PMDG’s 737 NG 600/700 on a fresh FS2004 install with the 9.1 update.... Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Yes. Go get the current version of FSUIPC (3.48). It sounds like the PMDG package you installed put a very old version of FSUIPC into the FS Modules folder, one which pre-dates the release of FS9.1 last September. I assume their package is that old too? The changes made by Microsoft in FS between 9.0 (dated "30612" = 12th June 2003) and FS9.1 (dated "40901" = 1st Sept 2004) were substantial, and the versions of FSUIPC available before then will not run -- in fact if they tried they'd crash FS in rather complex ways. Luckily FS9.1 looks like an incorrect version of FS to its checking. Incidentally, the Microsoft READ.ME for the FS9.1 update does include a warning that you will need to update your FSUIPC -- obviously any version pre-dating 9.1 will not be aware of it. It's a shame not many folks read READ.ME documents. Regards, Pete
djt Posted June 1, 2005 Author Report Posted June 1, 2005 Pete, Thank you for the response to my problem. So all I have to do is put the FSUIPC 3.48 file in my FS2004 Modules folder?
