Arnaud_S Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 hello Pete, I am just about to update my registered FSUIPC version from 3.41 to 3.48. My question is: will 3.48 work fully and properly with fs9, that is, unpatched version of FS? For some reason (mainly fear of problems related to fs9.1 encoutered by many users around) I dont want yet to patch FS to 9.1 untill a complete re-install of my system -and we all know how long it takes ! - I have read the readme.doc files but havent found anything related to that question, that's why I post here. Thanks by advance for your help, Regards
Pete Dowson Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 I am just about to update my registered FSUIPC version from 3.41 to 3.48. My question is: will 3.48 work fully and properly with fs9, that is, unpatched version of FS? Yes. In any case 3.41 was already changed to work with both FS9 and FS9.1. I have read the readme.doc files but havent found anything related to that question, that's why I post here. The current version of FSUIPC is compatible with FS98, FS2000, CFS1, FS2002, CFS2 and FS2004 (with or without the update). Once having achieved compatibility I try very hard to maintain it as I don't want to have to support more than one version. In any case, there's no risk on your part. You just replace the DLL in the FS Modules folder. That's all an "upgrade" is. You can easily keep old copies if you want to and revert just as easily (but just don't ask for support for them). In other words, it isn't a big deal. Just one little file being changed. Regards, Pete
Arnaud_S Posted June 25, 2005 Author Report Posted June 25, 2005 All right, thanks a lot Pete. I have replaced the .dll and everything seem to be working just fine. All of sudden I recalled that the last time I updated my .dll was indeed for the support of 9.1, which I never installed! We forget fast, sometime. Anyway, thanks for all your nice work again, Pete. Regards
