Hi

i recently purchased simkits multicontroller to connect my switches to operate pmsystems. However i have a problem in getting some stuff to work.

I have network computors and i run Magenta software.I have GC,MCP and PM systems. All works well.I have installed the multicontrollers and they are

configured,it was easy. When i program the boards with the table of i/o possibilities on FSUIPC codes i dont have a problem.but if i try the the i/o possibilites

on Project Magenta codes, nothing works that i put in.My PM software communicates with FS ,FSUIPC and WIDEFS is running without problems. For instance

if i put the code in trc# 1047 which says Cutoff1/CutoffL,it doesnt cut of the engine.I dont have a problem with FSUIPC codes ,only with PM codes Can

anyone help me,surely pmsystems should have picked it up if FSUIPC broadcasts the code,or is there another setting somewhere?

Sorry, I don't understand. What is "trc# 1047"? What are you really meaning by "PM codes" as opposed to "FSUIPC codes". I'm afraid you've lost me completely.

Hi Pete

This board has been programmed already with all the FSUIPC codes and Project Magenta codes using their own TRC code for example:

Table of input/output poss. based on PM codes

TRC # Description FSUIPC#

1048 Cutoff1/CutoffL 561A

1048 Cutoff2/CutoffR 561A

1144 Taxilight 5643

Then there r input/output poss based on FSUIPC codes

186 Strobes 0D0C

181 Pitot heat switch 029C

Now in the software for the Multicontroller you just put in the TRC# and the description comes up (as above) you save and when you activate the switch connected to 186 for example the stobes come on.As i said for the latter example those codes work(MSFS),but when i program any Magenta codes as per first example,i cant get any of those codes to work

I hope this is a better explanation

The 56xx range of offsets is used by pmSystems. Do you use/own pmSystems? If not then you need to use the FS switches for these, as listed in FSUIPC's offsets. In FS "CutOff" is actually dealt with by the mixture control (full rich = start, full lean = cutoff).

For any FSUIPC offsets operated by your hardware you can Monitor them in FSUIPC's Monitor facilities, as documented. See the Logging tab in the Options screen, right-hand-side. This is a good way to check that your hardware is doing the right thing. After that, if it doesn't do what you expect you have to investigate the target software, in the 56xx case this being pmSystems.

You'll find documentation for both FSUIPC FS offsets and the standard PM offsets on the http://www.promagenta.com Documentation page. But for pmSystems (which is entirely user configurable, INCLUDING the offsets) you'd need to look into the SYSVAR.TXT file supplied with the package.

Hi Pete

Yes i Bought PM systems, and i think you are correct in saying it might be in the target software that i have to configure .As i dont have any knowledge about programming or how to set it up,i hope there is someone out there that might help me a bit

Thanks

Well I know that the 737NG configuration for pmSystems is good -- I use it. Actually I use one developed from the default by Thomas Richter. You can find it attached to some of his messages in the PM webboard/newsgroup. Certainly the Cutout operates okay, for example. To check things with pmSystems you need to view the switches on the graphic whilst operating your own hardware switches.

Well, pmSystems is very flexible but it does take some work. Your best bet to get help is to post on the PM webboard rather than here. There's a dedicated pmSystems section with some very knowledgeable and capable folks in attendance, like Andras Kozma and Thomas Richter.

Regards,

Pete
