Frank Post Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Hi guys, I use 3 monitors with Wideview. To get the correct weather from the two clients I use the Minimum Weather Defaults(MWD) setting. As described in the manual I also aligned the ticks about the weather conform the instructions. 4 questions: 1. Do I always need to press that button whenever starting a new session ? 2. Can I change the ini-file to always have MWD on the clients. 3. One of my clients shows to be very slow in updating the weather. Can I improve that ? 4. One of my clients produces strange texture blocks (brights colors with texts) regularly. Is this a wideview problem ? About my configuration: The server is a AMD 3000+ with the top-Radeon card and 1 GB RAM The two clients are AMD 2000+ with GeForce 4 cards and 712 Mb RAM. Thanks for your inputs ! Frank Post

Pete Dowson Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 1. Do I always need to press that button whenever starting a new session ? No. FSUIPC saves all its setting in its INI file. 2. Can I change the ini-file to always have MWD on the clients. You don't have to. When you select it, the options are set that way for you in the INI file. They'll only change if you change them. That's what INI files are for, to remember options for each load. 3. One of my clients shows to be very slow in updating the weather. Can I improve that ? No idea. Sorry. Either a faster processor or maybe tweaks to WidevieW? Perhaps this is a question for the WidevieW forum? 4. One of my clients produces strange texture blocks (brights colors with texts) regularly. Is this a wideview problem ? No, it can't be. It has no control over graphics. If you have exactly the same scenery installed in all the FS's then it's a graphics card or driver problem. The two clients are AMD 2000+ with GeForce 4 cards and 712 Mb RAM. If the two clients are identical they should perform identically. Compare the graphics card drivers, et cetera. Pete
