ojsann Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Hi, I have a rather odd question/request, I guess: Is it possible to use FSUIPC (or something else) to make an external program able to draw simple lines in 3D in the FS environment? No heavy graphics, just simple lines in a preset color from one point (lat/long/height) to another. Not like scenery design, but dynamic lines that an external program can control runtime. The closest thing I see in the programmer's doc is to use the EFIS (Visual Flight Path), but this is unfortunately not quite flexible enough to meet my needs. My intentions are to visualize vectors from the aircraft to different navaids in the FS environment, and to indicate the flight path of an aircraft. (I am afraid that just turning on the smoke system will not do the job here :) ) Kind regards, Oyvind
Pete Dowson Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Is it possible to use FSUIPC (or something else) to make an external program able to draw simple lines in 3D in the FS environment? Sorry, I've absolutely no idea how to do that. FSUIPC is in no way connected to anything in the graphics parts of FS and I wouldn't now where to begin. It really isn't an area I can contemplate getting into. The only way I can think that you might be able to do it is make the line a very long thin aircraft, an AI one, and manipulate it in slew mode through the AI control interface in FSUIPC. Regards, Pete
ojsann Posted December 14, 2005 Author Report Posted December 14, 2005 OK, I was afraid of that. Thanks anyway, and thank you for an excellent product! Cheers, Oyvind
